I don't know if it's my husband's problem or mine.

My husband and I have been married for 6 years and have never taken any safety measures, but we still don't have children. I think it's my husband's problem. What should I do?

Sit down and have a chat with him. Don't say you think it's his problem though. Just tell him you really want children and see what he says. If he is not against having children either, ask him if he is willing to have a fertility test with you or speak with a specialist to see what can be done with the situation. It's important you both take the test and not just singling him out. Good luck

There's roughly a 50/50 split between fertility problems on the man's or woman's side. If you're already 39 though, and you really want to have children, then you should go to a fertility clinic asap. The usual advice is to seek fertility treatment after 12 months of unprotected sex, or after six months if the woman is over 35. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! I am definitely considering fertility and age is definitely a big factor.

I cannot believe you have had no tests and automatically assumed it’s your partners issue, firstly go to the doctors and discuss YOUR issues.

Then sit down with your partner and ask if they want children.

Have a grown up conversation and both go and speak to the doctor and seek professional advice on what options you have going forward.
