I’ve been taking Finasteride now for 3 years. I started off on 1mg a day over 7 days but found it to be too much both in cost & I had a few migraines & down days. I read on the internet that it’s only needed every other day & you can get away with 3/4 mg a week which I have been sticking to, I have recently been taking half a mg every day through out the week. I’m on a private prescription from Boots but they now only want to supply me if I use the prescribed dose of 7mg a week. If I’m on this drug for life (I’m now 58) I only want to take the bare minimum for help with DHT blocking. What do others think?

Finasteride for hair loss

Hi Rusty, I've been on Finasteride for about a year now. I take it for an enlarged prostate. It hasn't made my hair grow back at all but given me problems like sore and enlarged breasts. Needless to say I stopped taking them and just on Tamsulosin every other day which do have similar side effects but not as bad.
Hi Rusty. Just go to a UK Online pharmacy and order from there. You will need to complete an online screening questionnaire and be approved subject to the questions of course. I have only taken 1mg Monday Wednesday Friday for about 3 years now and have been on it maybe 15 years since it came out and was very expensive when I used to take it everyday and I've had no changes or loss of hair. If you look on Youtube and search for the Hairloss Show with 2 Australian hair surgeons they present some research and cover finasteride quite a lot so worth watching. Mark

Thanks I’ll stick with the reduced dose, I’m pleased with my hair at the moment & haven’t noticed any more loss. Thanks for the advice
