I have realized that my lymph nodes are very pronounced. The ones just below my collar bone have been very visible for years now, and recently (a few months ago) I have realized that what I presume are my submandibular lymph nodes are also very swollen and I can touch, move them etc. I have read elsewhere that you should not be able to feel you lymph nodes unless they are swollen, and that swelling should not last more than 6 weeks. Is this cause for concern, should I see a GP?

If they have been present for years, its unlikely there is anything significant going on. Mobile lymph nodes are preferable to fixed ones , that would be more of a concern. There are however some conditions that can cause permanently enlarged nodes. I would visit the GP, and please also consider doing HIV and syphilis testing.
Not to scare you at all but I had 2 swollen lymph nodes around my groin area and they both were cancerous. I got treatment 4 months after diagnosis and since then they have disappeared. So with that being said, I would see an oncologist just to double check.
