What have you had done? What were you told about after care? Contact where you had the procedure done for advice?

full circumsision and frenulum cut off ?

in reply toChris3108

How long were you told to leave the dressing on for? It looks raw but seeing as skin has been removed that is likely normal. Were you given any spare dressings?

Chris3108 in reply to

No just padding for pad and can’t remember what he said but he said if it falls off just leave it off ?

I bought soft gauze to just wrap it loosely around the head while in y fronts. Change it when going to the toilet. Putting anything on semi permanent in pointless in my opinion as you'll pee on it.

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply toPaul99

Soft gauze where from ? And I haven’t got anything on there down there other than a pad in my pants :(

in reply toChris3108

Most new wounds should be kept clean and dry, if they said don't worry if the dressing comes off then it should be ok, if there's any leakage from the wound then it might be best covered up. Take your usual analgesia too!

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply to

What’s analgesia??? I got a pad in my pants to cover it up it’s to sensative down there at the moment to even touch it ...?

in reply toChris3108

Pain killers, ibuprofen / paracetamol. Whatever you would normally take for pain that you are allowed, you can get some gauze /dressings from a chemist's.

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply to

I been taking both of them since yesterday

I would follow surgeon advice and not put anything on it.

If pain relief is not enough ask your doctor for something stronger such as Codein.

I’m constapated as it is mate ? And yeah I’m just worried about the swelling and the blood on bottom side 😭😭😭😭

Yeah u def want it wrapped up to keep some pressure on it, will help with the swelling - the pharmacy will sell some surgical gauze and micropore tape to help anchor it down. You may need to put a sterile dressing over that raw area so the gauze doesn’t fuse to the wound

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply toMarky-Mark

Fuck really ? I got told by sergeon if it falls off leave it off and air it ?

in reply toChris3108

I had bandage off after 1 day and didn’t re apply any gauze. I went around my house naked for a week lol . Letting air at it will help healing

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply to

Will it help that part tho ? I’m scared to clean it as it’s so sensative .. like so sensative :( I’m so scared I’ve been in tears

timmyboy20 profile image
timmyboy20 in reply toChris3108

Just clean it by gently rinsing water over it. Don't be scared, we all went through it but once everything has been healed it's gonna be fun I can assure you!

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply totimmyboy20

If it ever does heal :( the thing is I can pull the skin back to clean it ... the skin that’s covering the stitches and I can’t rinse water over it coz it’s so sensative 😭😭😭?! Do you mean touch it or let the water dribble off a towel or something ??

timmyboy20 profile image
timmyboy20 in reply toChris3108

Don't pull at the skin! Let the shower head rinse the water very gently over it. But maybe it's better you still wait till tomorrow. My doc told me to wait a few days before showering and keeping it dry. A moist environment is a source for bacteria.

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply totimmyboy20

Well I’ve got it airing right now ! Just so worried about how it looks, go through my pictures ? Worried abit where they’ve cut the frenulum ...I’m not gunna have a shower till tomorow night that will be 48 hours after op... ?

timmyboy20 profile image
timmyboy20 in reply toChris3108

Yeah that part at the back where the frenulum used to be looks always horrible at the beginning and it also takes the most time to heal. But it definitely doesn't look abnormal.

timmyboy20 profile image
timmyboy20 in reply toChris3108

Don't worry that over-sensitivity will fade away day by day.

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply totimmyboy20

What even if I have it aired and haven’t managed to clean it the first two days ? 😭😭

timmyboy20 profile image
timmyboy20 in reply toChris3108

Even then 😀!

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply totimmyboy20

Okay can u check my other picture out to see if swelling is ok or if I need to go back ? I’m so scared

It looks really raw. But as with all surgery it will. adding to this fact the skin removal. It’s going to take time to settle down. Follow the advice of the doctors is best. But it is normal for it to look like that so soon after surgery. Give it time to heal.

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply toGibbo2012

I’m trying too ? But I’m worried about cleaning it

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply toGibbo2012

Can you look through my other pictures ? I’m scared it’s swollen so bad I can’t even pull the skin back to expose the stitches to clean it... I don’t know what to do 😭

Gibbo2012 profile image
Gibbo2012 in reply toChris3108

My girlfriend is an A & E nurse in Cambridge. She told me to tell you not to try cleaning it for at least three days and then and only then by sitting in a bath of lukewarm water with some Hibiscrub antimicrobial skin cleanser added to reduce the chances of an infection developing. But other then that it should be left to heal naturally

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply toGibbo2012

Really ? Does mine look infected tho I feel like it is ? I’m worried about pulling the skin back to see the stitches :(

Gibbo2012 profile image
Gibbo2012 in reply toChris3108

She say it is raw. But doesn’t look infected. But if you think it is then see a doctor. My girlfriend says a bag of frozen peas wrapped in a clean boil washed towel (no fabric softener added to the wash though as this is a irritant) and placed near to the wound but not on it this will help with the swilling. The swilling is normal and due to the fact you have just had surgery on the most sensitive part of your body the swilling is only to be expected in the early stages of recovery. It’s your body protecting your penis. You can have up to 20,000 nerve endings running in to that area of your body inevitably some will have been cut. Like I said give it time to settle down and use the frozen peas, pain Killers and Hibiscrub. Hibiscrub is available from all chemists in the Uk.

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply toGibbo2012

Okay il try that but I can’t get to the stitches coz of the skin covering them ?

Gibbo2012 profile image
Gibbo2012 in reply toChris3108

Please don’t try at the moment. Let the swilling reduce before trying. If you use the Hibiscrub from day three in the bath of warm water. This will help to reduce the risk of infection.

I'm day 6 post op. I had blood under where you have it. I have bought a few a jock straps and cups. (Cups has ventilation holes) I use Vaseline on a gauze and change it every time I pee. I have no sensitivity using this and walk like normal. When it's off it's super sensitive. Never seen the head of my penis before. I don't care what it looks like at the end. Just want it to heal now
