Circumcision Day 10

hey guys I’m in my 10th day of healing (still quite early I know) but I’m still getting some discomfort around the incision area & I notice I’m getting dried blood stains around that area too but no visible fresh blood. I’m starting to worry because I’m not sure if this is normal or not! Any response would be appreciated thank you!

Heya, hope you're doing well, brother. A bit of blood from the wound at this early stage is to be expected, I had it mainly from night time erections during the first 14 days or so until the wound closed around the stitches. Keep an eye on it, and watch for signs of infection - if it continues or worsens then consult with a doctor. And come here to vent ar ask us to share our experiences, a lot of us have been through it. I'm over 3 months healed now and do remember the bleeding in the early weeks. You got this.

appreciate the quick response mate! I was put on antibiotics for the first 7 days to prevent any early infection so I’m hoping I’ve avoided that! I’ve been applying petroleum jelly to try prevent any sticking & it seems to be doing okay so far however the frenulum area seems to be the hardest area to keep protected

Yeah, the frenulum area is definitely the spot that proves to be the tricky bit. It's usually the last to heal and it's a very sensitive area with lots of nerves in it. That's where I was bleeding from the most, but it eventually closed up. I was on antibiotics too for five days in the second week as a preventive measure against potential infection. As I said, I'm 3 months healed and the frenulum area is still the area where most aches affect me, especially after a busy day on my feet, after sex or masturbating - a bit of airing always seems to sort it out. I was told at around 6 months healed it wouldn't be an issue anymore, and usually we're told 12 months for full recovery. Although, by about 2-3 months I wasn't really thinking about my willy as much as in the early weeks. Being worried is natural, mate. It's good to be vigilant.

Thanks man! Guess I need to be patient. Surgeon said it would all be healed in 4-8 weeks so I guess that’s a bit premature, & the fact it’s only day 10 for me I should relax if I’m still seeing patches of dry blood & feeling discomfort. But that’s why I reached out on here, I don’t know anyone else that’s had this procedure so it’s always reassuring to hear other people’s stories.

Absolutely. This forum has been one of the best places for reassurance during my healing. If you head to my profile you'll see my weekly updates starting from around 2 weeks healed. Should be reassuring to read to know what's coming. My mistake was focusing on the operation... I didn't think about recovery at all. Hit me like a tonne of bricks. Then I found this forum and realised we all heal differently but encounter similar things along the way.

It's Day 19 for me, I basically had the exact same stuff last week lol, don't worry because after the 2 week mark it gets better atleast for me, I don't have any blood now, just one annoying scab below the frenulum
