Losing Hypersensitivity quickly?

Almost 7 weeks post op, still hypersensitivity but trying to touch my glans more and more to make it habitual. The problem is, when I try to touch it, either dry or while applying coconut oil, it goes erect. When erected, I can touch it and sensitivity is quite decreased. But when flaccid, it comes back. I can put a finger or wrap my hand around but if rub when dry, it hurts. No issue when oil is there. Btw, I started exposing it since 2.5 weeks only. As my zsr ring was there, I kept it covered and was too scared to even put a finger on it. Still am using cotton cap but trying to let it grin from few days and started blowing air into it and letting water run over it. Mostly sensitive near tip and frenuloplasty area. Also it increases much more when wet. The inner foreskin also becomes uncomfortable to touch sometimes. How to counter it? Or it will be fine within few weeks? Atm, just waiting for hypersensitivity to drop.

Keep in mind my glans wasn't exposed for 29 years and never saw a light.

Should I do something else to make it drop quickly or just give it few more weeks/month.

Well yes, my glans was never exposed. How many weeks or months I should wait before it gets better?

You facing hypersensitivity as well? Any method you tried to lose it faster?

Yh, when erect it doesn't hurt but flaccid it does. During the day I have been wearing these as somebody recommended these and it has worked a treat stopping rubbing: incontinencechoice.co.uk/sh...

At night I have started wearing just tight underwear, along with the random erections and moving in your sleep I'm hoping my brain will figure out the flaccid rubbing is ok!

Hmm, how frequently you touch it using your hand/finger btw? And how's the texture looks like? Is it soft or has developed a rough layer?

Try to everyday, looks pretty soft it went white and rough week 3, now looks slightly rougher than it did before the surgery but not that much different. I think I'm now going to start not wearing any padding day and night and hopefully it will improve in the next couple of weeks! What are you doing day and night to combat any discomfort?

I wrap around a cotton and tape it up then wear tight underwear. Rn I can't wear underwear directly as the tip is very sensitive. I started to touch it more and put warm water over it. Also I blow air into it using a dryer but not that hot.

It's getting rougher from the back side but front is still soft where most sensitivity lies.

May take few more weeks I believe

it’s just gonna take time. You might want to try alternating— wrapping the head lightly in gauze for a period of time and then leaving it exposed. That way it will be more gradual than always being totally exposed.

Yes I have been wrapping head since op. But now trying to touch it more and more.

Tip is most sensitive but I am trying to touch it slightly using oil and dropping/dipping in warm water.

It's getting better but indeed its a long process

We all heal at different rates but you are on the right track. Keep introducing touch and things will improve with time.

Yea it's getting better but taking more time since I wrap it most of the time

Hello, your post is super informative..many thanks for sharing! Can you please tell me where you got the cotton cap from? Any link?

You can take a cotton swab or spread/cut a cotton from medicated cotton roll. Or you can wrap a gauze and tape it at the shaft.

Do it only if you have hypersensitivity else just keep doing normal bandage and leave the glans open.

Thanks for the reply.. I have high sensitivity quite similar to what you have posted. I'm on day 3 now and will need to join back at work after a week so have to figure a way out.

First week is tough, take rest and try to remain naked (if possible) and let the air pass. It will help it to get dry. Take meds on time and apply antibiotic ointment prescribed by your doc.

Cover it with cotton/gauze when moving out and try to keep it in upright position to minimise swelling.

It will get better with time. 4-6 weeks approx
