Is Keratinization due to exposure to air or rubbing against objects?

I am uncircumcised, have hypersensitive glans and recently has Candida Balanoposthitis. I saw some people posted that they still have sensitivity even after years of circumcision. I am thinking of retracting foreskin during night time so that it will be comparatively easier if I have to undergo circumcision due to the fungus. Will it help?

If it is due to rubbing, does it have to be done frequently; otherwise after 40 years, I must have touched/rubbed so many times at least more than that can be done exposing continuously in a month or two?

Sensitivity will reduce with touch and exposure but Keratinization is not inevitable.

I used bio oil when first cut then moved on to daily cocoa butter to help keep things soft.
