Circumcision

I’m looking to get circumcised soon, due to phimosis and balanitis. I was originally going to be going to London, but plans have changed and I want to get it done in Scotland. Has anyone had their circumcision done in Scotland? And any info? Looking at the glasgow Circumcision Clinic currently. Thanks

My doctors useless, they gave me cream for my balanitis (without even seeing me), that I can’t even put on properly, due to my phimosis. I said to them that I couldn’t, and all they said was ‘you’re just going to have too’

I doubt whether your GP would do the operation!

Well I can’t speak to a urologist through the NHS if I’m not referred from my GP...

If I want a referral I always ask and have yet to be refused. Perhaps I have been fortunate.

With phimosis and the application of creams, we have had guys who successfully use a cotton bud to apply their ointment and have done stretching simultaneously.

I wish you well in your search for a private surgeon and hope that your surgery goes well and that your balanitis resolves.

Thanks mate. I have asked for a referral, and have been told to just try the cream. I’ve got an appointment on Monday from another doctor so going to ask him if he can refer me. Hopefully will get it sorted ASAP, have also got an appointment on the 12th September for a pre assessment at the Glasgow circumcision clinic, if all goes well I’ll be looking to get it done ASAP.

Good stuff. Having had a mess of it first time I stopped being embarrassed and actually drew a line on my dick where I wanted the scar, half way between where it would be soft and where it would be hard (grower, sadly). I felt like a jerk being so 'fussy' with him but he didn't bat an eyelid and I'm really glad I did. Hope you get exactly the result you want, no regrets here.

Definatly worth shopping around mate if your going private and make sure they know your expected outcome.

I will make sure I have a proper chat with the doctor and make sure he’s experienced enough with adult circumcisions and styles etc.

Having had to have it done twice the key thing is to make sure the surgeon is willing to do it as you want. Some places refuse to do high and tight and the current 'fashion' is for low and loose. If they won't do what you want go elsewhere. I can 100% recommend Dr Shafii at Birmingham Circumcision Centre. Not Scotland but for this I'd either wait or travel a very long way to get it just right. Good luck.

I would only get it done by Dr Amin or Dr Khan in England, as I’ve been recommended by several people, and they are the top 2 Dr’s for it in England. I’m not comfortable with travelling long distances, as I’ve got bad anxiety. I was going to go with Dr Amin but decided to try glasgow first, got a pre assessment on the 12th of September, so will make sure to ask about everything, have a doctors appointment tomorrow for something else, but will ask if he can refer me to a urologist, as it’s regarding the same area. At this point I just want it over and done with, as I’m in a bit of pain and loads of discomfort. Thanks for your reply!

That's good you got the referral the waiting is the worst. did you try the Glasgow clinic after?

I was in contact with a receptionist that deals with the glasgow clinic, but it seemed very unprofessional and not run very well, so I just gave up with it lol

Ok that's a pity definitely wouldn't go there if you didn't feel confident. I understand your concerns with travelling at the moment with covid-19 to London they do very good work the two doctors that you mentioned in a previous post.
