I got circumcised today... I'm 33 years and let's say if I complain I could go on like a small kid. Please can people advise me on what to becareful for, what to look out for? Is it normal to have had more anesthetic injections during the procedure because I started feeling everything? Is it normal that I'm not in excruciating pain 5 hours after ?

Try your best not to masturbate or have sex until 6 to 8 weeks until you are completely healed. You don’t want to mess up the healing process. Infection is a very big thing. Practice proper hygiene is a must to void infection at the incision line. Not sure what method of circumcision you got but good to wrap the incision line with nonsticking gauze and antibiotic ointment. Wait until 24 to 36 hours after the procedure before showering. Use the lowest water setting when showing. If the jet stream from the shower head hit your penis directly, it will sting. When wiping your penis dry, tap the towel around the penis. Make sure it is dry before placing new nonsticking gauze on. Bacteria and germs thrive on moisture. If you get boner at night or morning good, go pee quickly. Remember, do not touch yourself until 6 to 8 weeks. The recommendation is 4 to 6 weeks, but I think it is too short. Some circumcisions required longer healing time. Healing process will take a little longer in adults than pediatric patients. Eat high protein diet and get good night sleep to stimulate wound healing. Urine can drip down into the gauze, urine is very acidic and can do a lot of damage to the skin if leave it there for long time. Change the gauze when soiled. You can use a little piece of toilet paper and place it by the frenulum, hold it there with your finger while you pee. The toilet paper will soak up any urine that leaked or drip toward the incision line. Keep it dry. After a week, you can open the wound to air to stimulate proper wound healing. Sensitivity will cease once the glans is keratinizing. A process that will take awhile to get used to.
I had extra injections aswell, I started to feel it a few times. Luckily, the pain stopped immediately after injection.
I'm on (exactly) 3 weeks since my surgery and I haven't felt excruciating pain at all. Uncomfortable at times yes, but no real pain luckily.
Make sure you do not touch anywhere near the wound with dirty hands. When handling it, make sure you have freshly washed hands.
While it's swollen, try to keep it upright and don't let it dangle downwards. This gave me a lot of relief.
I found that Vaseline Petroleum Jelly works quite nicely on the glans and wound, to make the new sensation of an exposed penis a little less uncomfortable.
Also as a side note, don't freak out if your piss doesn't come out straight!
Wish you a speedy recovery!
No , I had so little pain ,I had erections two hours later ! Told the doctor I'd had more pain with cut finger which made him laugh. As others said hygene is important, change bandage often, look for redness of infetion, usually with any infection probably would be associated pain. Also as noted if you spray like a fountain, only swelling, it will settle down before long.
