There is some very useful, medically approved advice on Preparation for your circumcision at: circinfo.com/preparation/pr...

Correspomding advice on Post-Op Care is at: circinfo.com/post-op_care/c...

Don't worry. Circumcision is a simple external procedure to be done under local anaesthetic in a doctor's office.

Healing times vary. It took me almost 8 months but I am happy. Lots of patience. Follow the advice of your doctor and ask them questions during the healing if you are unsure about something.

Don't think too much, Just get it done, it's a minor surgery you will heal in a month

get a second and third opinion.!I had one at 72 and regret it. It was sore for 4 months after and sensitivity is reduced later.

Seen lots of specialists. They have all said I would need it. Sorry to hear that you regret it.

Healing can take time. Regular cleaning afterwards with short warm salt baths. Slowly and gently introduce touch to reduce sensitivity. Take pain killers as often as needed.

I also found wearing tight pants reduced pain by keeping it all in place. Movement meant pain for me.

Thank you. Bit nervous about it to be honest. Just hope it will look okay after.

Why are you planning the surgery?

I have suffered with phimosis and priapism for years. So getting it done to help with the phimosis. On meds for priapism.

I suggest checking online phimosisjourney. Most complete info available and encouraging.

is it normal to have some second thoughts about the surgery.

Just nervous. Having had the foreskin for 27 years and now going to not have it in 3 weeks.

Is this normal

Circumcision should be a last resort after alternatives have been tried and failed. A preputioplasty is a procedure that cures phimosis but retains the foreskin. You should contact the charity 15 Square 15Square.org.uk They are able to advise on your options.
