Washing with soap

Hi All,

I am on day 6 post circumcision.

I had my first shower 2 days after the surgery I only use water to run down my body over my penis.

And I am still only using water to clean on day 6

Every second day I take a salt bath.

I tried to Google search but can't find the answer to:

when can I start using soap to wash my penis???

I will start off using kids soap but just don't know when I can start using soap

I am trying so hard to keep it clean and healthy

Its difficult to say as there is no general rule ig . I started after a week when I felt there's no opening in the incision area

I thought the usual advice was not to use soap at all to wash the penis - just water, as cleaning agents can cause balanitis. I've always just used water.

DO NOT EVER use soap on your glans, unless it is some hygiene product for men. I made that mistake a long time ago by rubbing my glans with soap which resulted in rash and blister on my glans for like a month.

Emollient or baby soap can be used and rinsed well after wards, but soap best avoided directly on head.

I went with the tattoo method. Dial Gold antibacterial. Put it in my hand and massage to foam. Let the soap run down my area. Worked well. I’m 14 days post.

I washed with soap within a week and had no issues. I also lubed up the head of my penis with vaseline afterwards
