I was just circumcised at the age of 55 for health related reasons. It is now day 3 post surgery and I am searching for suggestions, potential expectations, after care tips (every clinic etc I have found in my research gives different, sometimes contradictory, instructions… including my surgeon ) plus anything else that may be beneficial to know.
So if you’ve had this surgery as an adult, I’d love to hear any feedback from your personal experience that may be beneficial to me. Pros, cons, difficulties experienced, length of time for desensitization of head or anything else I may not have thought of or listed.
If you were circumcised as a baby or boy, I’m thinking your experience was likely too far in your past to relate to an adult who was just cut (no offence) so I’m not looking for your lived experiences in the days following your surgery.
Thanks in advance for whatever you can share.
Cheers.

my personal experience was pain free. My surgeon uses general anesthesia so I literally didn’t feel a thing.
I kept up on my pain meds (Tramacet the night of and morning after surgery) and alternated Extra Strength Tylenol and Ibuprofen every 3 hours. Stopped even the Tylenol and Ibuprofen on morning of day 3.
My suggestion is to stay on top of pain meds, don’t wait til it becomes very sore before starting.
As for being scared, there wasn’t any because I was pumped to get this done.
No regrets.
Good luck with your surgery. Positive thoughts only brother.
can be a little uncomfortable for a couple of weeks mainly the head of the penis rubbing on to the underw is use Vaseline to help I had my opp 5th of January this year and it still can be a little uncomfortable when it gets erect but not too bad
Everyone heals at different rates so it hard to judge.
I had my circ' for medical reasons in my early fifties, it was a General so no pain there, but my healing process took some time. Avoid any sex for at least six weeks, bathing in salt water or very mild soap. Vaseline on non stick dressing with tight underwear helped reduce pain for me. Introducing touch slowly, such as from shower spray helped become accustomed to touch. Moving on I used cocoa butter on the head and now use coconut oil.
Some say let the head dry out and keratinize but I like it the way it is.
I had mine March 1st for health reasons - now 54yo. It was under general (consultant winced when I asked if it could be under local). As others have said, take it easy - for me, the first few days were very painful, but manage this with meds. I was actually able to have sex just after the 3rd week - couldn't hold on, gently does it... I was playing badminton after 3 weeks too. Now it's 10 weeks later or so - no issues and glad it's done.
