Rash and redness at end of penis right after circumsicion.

I am middle-aged and I was circumcised 1 week ago because of phimosis. I quickly developed some sort of red rash on the end my penis which was exposed and not covered by the bandage. It is red, appeared to initially blister a little and then peel. Now it is very raw and uncomfortable with any contact. It also sticks to my underwear and needs to be moistened to unstick it. I now have it completely wrapped by a bandage, but even the bandage becomes stuck to the raw end of the penis if left any length of time. Otherwise, I seem to be having no issues. Does anyone know what is happening and what is best for me to do? My doctor is out for the Holidays for another week!

It may be worth noting that for 1-2 months before the circumcision, I started keeping the foreskin partially retracted because it would otherwise tighten up badly. When I started doing this before the surgery I noticed the end of the penis becoming red also.

My father also had to have circumcision done when he was my age due to phimosis, and he eventually developed penile cancer, so of course this is also a worry in the back of my mind!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Soreness is not unusual in the early stages. Non stick melonin dressing may help. Short salt baths along with Bio oil can help healing. As time moves on introducing touch helps healing. Spray from shower is one way to start.Good luck
