Did I damage my Vas Deferens?

Hi I’m trying to conceive with my wife and I have a question about the vas deferens. I recently did a testicular self examination and I tried to isolate the vas deferens by firmly but gently pressing into the spermatic cord. I identified them but now Im worried that I may have crushed them. I feel no pain or swelling in the region but I read a report that said that even the slightest disturbance of the vas deferens can cause infertility. The report specifically mentioned “crushing” of the vas decrees during surgery of a hernia so I worried that my exploration may have harmed them in someway since I’m not a doctor. Can a testicular self exam harm the vas deferens or am I worrying for nothing. Thanks

To be honest I think you’re totally worrying over nothing….self examination is medically encouraged & I wouldn’t think for one second that you have damaged or crushed anything… if you had I’m sure you would have considerable prolonged pain to go with it….also when you think about it how many of us have took a bash in the balls over the years & still gone on to perform & father children….so try to stop worrying & enjoy sex with the Mrs 😃👍

I think the contents of your scrotum are used to a degree of minor trauma. Think of all the jiggling about that happens during running or exercising. Or indeed when having energetic sex!

If you are really worried speak to your doctor for reassurance.
