Should I consider circumcision?

Hi all, I have been considering getting circumcised, I know for many the reasons for doing this would usually be tight foreskin. In my case I just think that a circumcised penis looks better. I have seen talk of different styles, and I think i would like to retain as much of the sensitive skin behind the glans as possible, so I know I would like a high circumcision, but I’m worried about how tight to go, how tight is too tight? I mean I want it to look really tight when I’m erect but I certainly don’t wan to loose any length. Your thoughts would be gratefully received. I’ve added a picture of how my penis looks currently.

Pull bit more and see how far it goes. Appears to be ok

Hey yeah it pulls all the way back, quite tight but not at all painful... I just like the ‘cut’ look

in reply to Jamiez1

If you want to be cut, I would recommend it.

Have you researched the different styles?

Hi, are you cut or uncut? I researched the styles like I say high and tight looks good but I’m worried about being too tight

in reply to Jamiez1

I’m cut 👍

I second James95 here. The fact that you're interested in getting cut indicates that you'll probably be happy with it. In terms of tight/too-tight, I would suggest going private. My understanding of NHS is that if your GP decides it's necessary, you'll get cut, but you'll also get what you get - from the looks of most of the pics here, low and moderately tight. If you go to a private clinic, you'll likely get much more input on the style and the Dr will discuss your final aesthetic result in much more depth and you will get really great result in the end. From my perspective, the £600-£800 prices I've seen quoted here are quite reasonable for letting someone take a knife to your penis.

True. I feel you. I feel like the uncut look over the head is attractive. I think as long as it isn’t too tight it looks great. Any of it flaccid?

Jamie I can understand that feeling very much. I had a perfectly functional foreskin but at 18 I decided I wanted to be rid of it for looks and easier cleanliness. I, too, went for high and medium tight which means that when even erect there is still some skin movement on the shaft. I now wish I had gone for a tighter one. If you go private the question of style and tightness will be covered by the surgeon performing the procedure as they are concerned to make sure their customers get what they want.

Thank you, I think that i’ll Just ask for high and tight, I don’t want to chance there being too much skin.

I agree it looks better overall...if the circumcision is done well. I’ve seen a lot of mediocre or plain ugly circumcisions (my older brother got a lame one when we were in HS and it scared me off for years) so just make your research your surgeon and his results. You’ve only got one Dick, if you’re gonna get part of it hacked off, make sure it’s gonna look good. I can’t wait to be circumcised but there’s still that part of me that worries something could go wrong and it’ll look bad, which is why I’m gonna spend the most to go with a guy with a history of good results

I recommend you to go for ZSR circumcision, which is painless and doesnt involve any stitches. Recovery time is very less

Hi, it's entirely your decision if you want to have it done no one should say you should or shouldn't have it, if you do decide to have it my advice would be to go to a doctor that is experienced at doing it and will give you the result that you want. Make sure and do your research before you decide.

Your penis looks perfectly normal. Talk to your GP. But i think they will say, leave well alone. But of course, you can always find a Dr who will do it. Thats your choice. I would avoid doing it if doing it because you believe it would look better. I think it looks fantastic as it is.

I would go for a circumcision. Go to a respected surgeon. I was done 33 years ago and it was the best thing ever. Still admire it. I must admit that I lost about an inch to start with, but it has come back. Mine is very tight when erect but feels great. Go for it. You have the makings of a great cock

Thank you so much and for your kind words about my penis

Broadbandbill profile image

I appreciate what Bucky is saying, but chose the right surgeon, discuss styles etc. The sensation issue I find is the opposite. You do lose sensation a bit. Try exposing your glands and keep the skin retracted. I did for a year or so. This desensitises the glands and gives you some idea. But I find even now my orgasms are far better. Your cock and glands would look great cut

That’s another thing I’m thinking about, during sex what is better for the partner, cut or uncut....

It looks great to me keep it as it is as long as you foreskin or gland head doesn't hurt, does your skin fully cover the head when soft like mine does ?

Jamiez1 profile image
Jamiez1 in reply to LASERUK

Thank you. It completely covers the head with plenty of excess when soft but moved back like this when hard.

Better for the woman to be cut. Also better for oral

My partner prefers my circumcised penis to all the uncircumcised ones she’s had.

Looks excellent as is. Just pull your foreskin back all the way. Would be the same as being circumcised without the scarring. But do as you please. you're an adult.

As you are posting on HealthUnlocked can you let us know what your health problem is?

Jamiez1 profile image
Jamiez1 in reply to

I’m so sorry, I must have totally misunderstood. I thought that circumcision was a surgical procedure with health related consequences. Obviously this is incorrect and those considering it do not need to give consideration to any possible side effects that might effect their health. Ooops. 🤣🤣🤣

in reply to Jamiez1

Much the same that HealthUnlocked does not have a forum for other forms of cosmetic surgery. All surgery carries risk and the best way to find out about them is from your surgeon. If you decide to go ahead - and there is lots of information online both for, against and neutral - then, of course, the health consequences of your decision and your healing can be supported here. I wish you well in your decision making - no little laughing faces!

Agree with most of the posts.

In my expercience, circumcised at 52 years old -no medical reasons-, honestly, apart from the cosmetic change (something really subjective) the difference is minimal except masturbation worsened (not really important as I have sex partner).

Some others report incredible improvements and other ones just the opposite. I'm just in the middle.

My advice would be that unless medical necessity, skip the surgery, but you are an adult, so It's your decision.

Just be in mind that there's no way back.

I am not going to waste my time reading through the replies but my guess is you will get some saying not to do it and an equal number telling you it is the best thing ever.

I would say bear in mind the recovery process can be difficult and painful.

Get as much info as you can talk to your Doc and make an informed decision. Once it is gone, it is gone. Make the right choice.

There are pro's and cons.
