Scarline sensitivity

So i'm on day 23 post op now.

I've managed to overcome my hyper sensitive glans by switching between 3 days of applying coconut oil, and 3 days of keeping the glans completely dry. (The coconut oil allows me to touch my glans and get it used to coming in contact with skin/clothes, while the drying out allows the skin to harden and toughen up).

The problem i am now facing is that my scarline seems to be the most sensitive area now. When i try to wear underwear, it pushes down on the ridge / scarline, and causes great discomfort. Is there any way to fix this?

I'd also like to add that my stitches still haven't fallen off, my doctor said it would be another week or so before they start falling off on their own. I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the sensitivity?

What are your experiences in ridge sensitivity before and after stitches coming out?

I’m on day 16… and now for me the most irritating thing is the stitches and the sensitivity around the scarline.

Saw my consultant on Sunday and he said week 3-4 for the stitches to go… so I have maybe another week or two to wait.

I’m opting for the “tough it out” technique and wearing normal underwear and jeans from a couple of days ago and each day becomes a little more bearable. Yesterday was near to OK!!

Fingers crossed we’re both the other side of this fairly soon buddy!!! Nothing can be worse than the night time erection stage and that’s clearly behind me now!

Yeah, i'm not able to adopt the 'touch it out technique' because it's just way too sensitive around the ridge. Earlier i also had hyper sensitivity around the glans, which was stopping me from wearing clothes.

Luckily i work from home so i've been locking myself in my home office everyday, with no pants or underwear and the AC all the way up - this has helped me to dry out my glans.

Apart from the ridge sensitivity, the other thing i'm now worried about is the chance of the stitches leaving behind scars.

I've been reading posts on some other forums like Reddit, where they mention the stitches job is complete by the first two weeks, and post that you should try to get rid of them asap to prevent any unwanted scarring.

I actually asked my consultant about things like coconut oil and bio oil to help reduce scarring - he said he didn’t recommend them! Wasn’t expecting that!!

Spent most of first two weeks in a light satin gown with as much space around my cock as possible!! Only a couple of days into being dressed but feels like a return to normality!!

Early in whenever I tried wearing briefs with him pointing north was just unbearable after 60-90 minutes!! So I feel your pain!!

Good luck buddy and hang on in there!! It does get better, and when it does it’s quite sudden!!

Think that just shows that it depends where you get done and who your consultant is. My guy definitely recommended using Bio oil and also E45 cream for massaging into the area to keep it supple. Agree that one day you suddenly realise that you're not sore anymore.

When did he advise you start with the bio oil? is this once the stitches are gone?

in reply to Jasper71

Once the stitches have gone and the wound has closed up completely

Actually doctors sometime do not aware what is the healing experience of adult circumcision of adult men. So they'll suggest only based on clinical trials or studies they knew to avoid any complications. At first I too scared to remove my stitches by myself but when recalled my tunnels ( the leftover holes from healed stitches), I braved myself and got it removed during my second time circumcision. So it's in your hand. Coconut oil are very healthful you can opt for extra virgin olive oil ( as I read, sometimes how, before it becomes cookery oil, in ancient times it is the best oil ever used exclusively for male genital). I have experienced with both coconut oil, and extra virgin olive oil.

Yes, here in India my surgeon who did my procedure didn't recommend use of any oils.

However, i spoke with a number of Ayurveda specialists, and they all highly recommend the use of coconut oil especially to help reduce hyper sensitivity, and then later to help remove the scarring.

Yes - so many different views!! I’ve been surprised how many guys have the wound bandaged vs open!! Mine was open from day two.

Opened from day 2 is common bro as adult men, we get erections and a lot of nocturnal emissions as if we do not release our seminal fluid because of healing. So it's common. Just careful with blood, because a girl's clothes may stained with blood as it shows her puberty process but not the same if a guy bleeds on his pants, it will be embarrassing shameful. And that is what I always worried a long my healing process.

I can only reflect on my experience here, so I would imagine that ur scar line will be very sensitve, u had ur d sliced and lets be honest u d is very sensitve piece of body.

You are just on day 23th, give yourself more time to heal, don't trip over it. If you are not comfortable wearing tight boxers try loose or vice versa.

Some people in this forum were saying that they were applying handfull of vaseline onto the scar line and the just wrapped it with some gauze and a strapping if needed.

As for the coco oil or bio oil the idea of using it is same as for pregnant women to reduce the visibility of stretch marks. So if u can massage it gently into the scar line do so, if not give urself more time.

As for wearing bandages in the first stage of healing (first week or two). It all depends wheater u are bleeding or not. I had mine out of bandage in day 3 only beacuse it was super hot in UK so I didn't wanted to suffocate my d in the wrapping.

From day 3 to day 5 I didn't wrap it during day, only nights. I also notice that while it was wrapped during night fairly tight it helped with my d being less swollen, so from day 6 to day 10 I was wrapping it back during a day which gave great outcome, my d is less puffed.

I would say all doctors have diffrent views about healing, as every patient give them different feedback. It all depends also on u and ur wound and the stage u are at.

Get them stitches out. I cut mine out within 2 weeks due to the soreness. They will definitely be causing your skin to be sensitive. Get some small scissors and snip one side then pull it out. Within couple of days sensitivity will go

Truthful answer is just ride it out…your skin/scar line will get used to the exposure & will settle down… stick with it💪💪💪💪👍

Okay, your sensitivity at scarline comes because of the remain stitches. For that you need to cover it with some medical gauze and medical tape. When removing it use / soak your penis in saline water or water to loosen the gauze from the wounds. That is what I did. And if you're already passed 10 days, you definately can remove the stitches by the same method ( soaking in water or saline water). I got cut twice for my personal choice. So you can take my experience for your healings too.
