Glans - Keeping hydrated vs Keeping dry

It's been 16 days since my circumcisino.

Like many people here, i have a super Sensitive glans.

It seems there are two very different approaches being used to desensitize the glans:

1) Keep the glans completely dry

2) Keep the glans hydrated

I'm wondering which of these will help to reduce sensitivity faster?

I have been doing the following steps 3 times a day:

1. Soak the glans in salt water for 5 minutes

2. Apply Neosporin ointment to the incision/wound area

3. Apply a thin layer of vaseline to a gauze and wrap around the penis.

Also after reading many threads on this forum, i've started applying Coconut oil to the glans since this morning in an attempt to accelerate the desensitization process.

I know there's been a lot written about how to desensitize the glans, but i'm really confused about whether to keep it hydrated or whether to keep it dry.

I doubt there won't be any difference, but moisturised glans feel better and healthy. It really is up to you. There is no real keratinization after male circumcision. Your finger and toe nails are keratinized 'skin'. Exposed nerve-endings on the glans just send messages to your brain and you just have to adapt to the new exposed mucosa. It will get better.

At 16 days I would advise just washing as normal, no need for salt water anymore, just do not use perfumed soaps and rinse well. Become accustomed to touch, that will help reduce pain.I used bio oil for the first few weeks then moved on to cocoa butter. I now use coconut oil daily.

Good luck
