Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum. Just joined today as I am having a vasectomy done by a GP in a couple of weeks. Not worried about the procedure as such - I'm 51 and been meaning to get around to this for a while - but it's more about the prep. Anyone had it done who can give some good advice on shaving the scrotum (as requested by the GP)? Not traditionally been my thing to so I am more squeamish about this than the actual op lol
Thanks

Just get some shaving cream and a good new razor. Sit on the edge of the tub... Lather up the twins, pull the shin tight with one hand and carefully shave with the other.. If you are really hairy (as in long pubic hair that hasn't been trimmed) I would recommend trimming it back first with scissors then shave. I'm one to prefer being natural so I don't normally shave... Maybe trim once in awhile... But I had my vasectomy 28 years ago.. No big deal.
Yes as others. Give them a good clean, hot water, plenty of foam and a new razor.Take your time.
Be aware though that on the day of my Surgery, I thought I had shaved properly but a Nurse came along, lifted the sheet and said it needs to be cleaner. She whipped out a razor and with a deft hand gave me a closer shave !
If I was you I’d try trimming really short with hair clippers and then purchase Mens sensitive hair removal cream, I’ve shaved smooth for years and always end up with a rash/itching from wearing underwear. Since trying the cream I’ve had no issues and get a smoother feeling all over, plus it’s age for your balls too
Thanks, I hadn't considered removal cream but I'm reading good (mostly) reviews of Veet Men Intimate Hair Removal Kit so am trying that later today. Vas this Monday, I can't wait..
Like others have said I would trim your hair first before using razor. I find it easier to do it in the shower with a sharp razor. Not sure if you're gonna shave it all but I also find it easier to do when I'm erect and go with the grain on shaft (from bottom up) Be careful and take it slow. But I'm sure once you see the difference you might make it a habit of keeping it trimmed. Good luck
To all of you who replies to my original question re shaving…all done now. The Veet cream worked a treat. Bit fiddly but not painful at all. Did the whole sac plus an unintentional bit of leg and stomach haha. Had the snip a couple of hours back - feels like I’ve had a cricket ball smashed into my nuts but hey, it’ll get better!
