Any tips before I get myself circumcised?

Hi. I am 25 y/o and thinking of getting a circumcision done. I’ve had phimosis for a while, and even the doctors suggested the best way to deal is with the procedure. I know one should wait 6 weeks before any sexual activity or fapping, but I am concerned about the pain due to morning or random erections (during the day). How does one deal with them? Any help would be great! Thanks :)

Got mine long-time ago but my advice by seeing other posts would be jerk off as much as possible prior because sounds like won't be able to for awhile after

in reply to

Hahaha yes! How long did you wait before you resumed sex/ masturbation?

in reply to

Mine was done right after birth so a couple years haha

I waited 6 weeks and only rubbed the head with lots of lube. No stretching the shaft skin and scar. Kept that up til 3 months.

Congrats, I just hit the 14th day , let me tell you, it’s been real. Lots of worries, discomfort, doubt, but mostly happy I got it done too. I can hardly wait for a test drive.

Have you tried stretching with a steroid cream? Circumcision should be a very last resort. Some doctors are very quick to suggest circumcision. If you read some of the posts on here you will see all the issues related to circumcision. If you have tried everything possible then you have no choice but think carefully as once it is done there’s no going back.

Yes those creams didn’t work for me. Have tried exercises but no help. The only option is getting circumcised.

I got circumcised on the 25th of March this year after years of procrastinating, all I can say for now is that it's not all that bad except for those random erections throughout the entire day, but I deal with it by dampening a cloth in cold water, placing it on my testicles the on the dick until it becomes flaccid again...

in reply toBhako

How bad is the pain during those erections? I am scared when I’m not at home and those erections come. For how long after the surgery do those erections bother?

I personally got erections the same day after post op, it feels like a 'suspicious erection', it just sneaks up on you but I don't get them when I'm outside... As for the pain, they have a bit of discomfort that's why you must have lots of painkillers, I'm currently taking Mybulen...

By the way, you will be waking up daily because of erection discomfort... Make sure you pee every chance you get..

Remove as little skin as possible. Only remove the tight ring and nothing else.

Yes! Thanks!

If you're worried about erections making the recovery difficult, think of something urgent or unpleasant to make the erection go away. Another thing you can do is abruptly change what you are doing to break the thought-train you are experiencing when you feel an unwanted erection coming.

in reply tohealthymale

Haha yea thats what I’d have to do

There is one thing the surgeon needs to think when he/she removes just the phimotic ring on head of the foreskin. The incision scar will be tight first four to six months at least. There is difference on diameter when the cut is vertical vs a little oblique. Think about it!

Hi i had to have circumcision done because off phimosis too i didnt get any erection s due to the pain now its been six weeks since op looks allot better still swollen frenulum area ottherwise good

in reply to

Thanks!

To be honest im too afraid to try masturbation or sex

in reply to

Oh okay! Thanks. Must be difficult to go so long without fapping lol

I am waiting for swelling to go down

Make sure your do not have any overhang in the groin area. Make sure that area has less fat as this can push skin back over the head of the penis.

in reply toDragonTalon

Yep. Thanks!

I was circumcised in late 2019. My regret was waiting so long to get it done. My doctor used a compression bandage that stayed in place for several days. I think that really helped with night time erections and I had very little discomfort during recovery.

How is the sex/ masturbation after the circumcision ?

Thanks for the reply! The words help :)
