Circumcision: Yes or No

So this week I am having a circumcision. I've been avoiding for years. When erect it is impossible to retract my foreskin. When I have managed to it was incredibly painful. This is the only reason i'm having the procedure. I am concerned though about the length of time it takes for the glans to become less sensitive. Am I really making the right choice?

Well,I have had circumcision 16 days ago,I had the same condition as you(phimosis) and iam 35. I had a conventional surgery, the first 5,6 days are little painful and erections in the night especially, will stretch the stitches andcthe pain force to awake us.can't masturbate for 4 to 6 weeks post op ,now I have no foreskin,I have to use any lube or oil to stroke my penis. Over all I feel good because now I can pull my skin down, and expose my glans,it's beautiful 🙂.After 35 years of my life iam seeing this.it's a great feeeling. The sensitivity is still there, but it's decreasing, but it will take months I think to completely lost it.

My advice is masturbate as much as possible before the operation🙂,because you are going to miss the masturbation for 4 to 6 weeks, and you must do it with out your foreskin.so go and masturbate as much as possible before the op.

Yes, you definitely are. Circumcision will solve your problem instantly and permanently.

I think if you're not a doctor who has examined the patient, that's a bold statement to make or believe.

From my experience, I would urge caution. There must be more conservative surgical options available these days, as well as the non-surgical stretching. There is no guarantee what will happen with surgery, nor how any day-to-day sensitivity as you walk about will effect your life and ability to concentrate, nor how long that will persist for. I wrote about what happened to me on this blog post: dignityvdoctorsuk.blogspot....

One thing I would suggest if what you have is just tight skin and it is not scared, is to stretch it, but make sure you don't tear the skin. If you do, sterilize the area often so you don't risk the chance of BXO which doesn't have a known cause, but affected me when I damaged my FS through masturbation. That is something that doctors pretty much suggest circumcision for if steroid cream doesn't work. I would get some of that if you're stretching too btw.

I'm circumcised 20 years now and I've no problems at all, it doesn't impact my life negatively in any way. I had tight foreskin which wouldn't retract as it should, was painful and couldn't wash the area properly. Some people will argue that being circumcised is not cleaner but I feel that it is! There is urine, sweat, precum all sitting in that area even a few hours after a shower and it can have a bad smell in some cases!

Best to discuss all options with your doctor so that you are happy with your decision! There are partial circumcisions that only remove the problem area and allows you keep some of the skin if that's what you prefer!! There are also tight and loose circumcisions, so do your research on that too so that your happy with the outcome! Mine is loose so there is plenty of movement on the shaft, some guys can't move the skin at all when erect as it has been done very tightly!! There are also other procedures that dont remove the foreskin fully, you could discuss these options also with your doctor but everybody's case is different and it's better in some cases to do the full procedure. Good luck with your decision!

Which style and method you have selected?

I haven't even been asked these questions.

Before you commit- make sure you explore the possibilities of a dorsal slit procedure, which means you can save all of your skin and have it retract easily. I have had 3 mates who had that done, and each has said that it was way less problem than having the whole skin cut off. And it looks a heck of a lot better than a scar line. Best!

Have the circumcision it is the best way forward & will solve your problem instantly…once you’ve got over the procedure you will be so glad you had it done👍

Hi, I got circumcised and am happy with it but I didn't have it done til I'd used stretching creams, etc. first. Have you done that? It may not work and a circ may still be necessary (you do have a medical condition) but at least you can tell yourself you tried. If you can I'd ask the doctor to do it high and tight, this preserves more sensitivity and IMHO looks better (Google it?) because you will lose a bit of sensitivity. The plus side is that taking a bit longer to cum is a good thing for most guys! Good luck, if I had the choice again I'd still go for it.

of course not. As tugging works, mutilating your penis is the worst possible solution. See:

I got circumcised twice and frenuloctomy, so believe me bro.... circumcision is the best ever decision a men can do for an excellent sexual pleasure. And yeah I did it solely for sexual pleasure and aesthetic reason, no medical complications but my own wish to get rid off my foreskin for these purpose I have had mentioned.

You never explained why you can't pull the skin back so it's hard to give any good advice. Do you have an issue? Can you retract not erect? Is it just painful during sex that it needs to retract? Is it tearing? Infected? etc... If you've been avoiding it for years, it seems you're on the right track to continue doing that no? What has changed?

There is no going back once this is done. That may sound obvious, but it's really worth saying, especially since you seem unsure about your decision. I would really encourage you to conduct more research on what is a permanent decision. Longterm complications of various natures are not that uncommon.

I would not recommend, if last resort a partial circumcision or just remove the portion that is causing the phimosis full circumcision involves too much risk, pain , removing too much skin, losing sensitivity, bleeding, regardless how good the surgeon is there is always risk would try any other option before circumcision please do the research and make an informed decision good luck
