Hello,
Many of us get depressed or get anxiet about our penises just post the surgery. Happened with me too. Some of the key points we get worried about:
- Hyper-Sensitivity of Glans
- Pain when getting Erections
- Swelling / Infections Risks
- Sleeping/Sitting/Walking Discomfort
- No Clothing Is Comfortable
Well, I will answer each point as a first week review of the Post-Op/Post-Surgery.
- Glans are so sensitive for some people that even the slightest touch by cloth, hand, anything gives a sting or electric shock feeling in the entire penis and body as well. That goes off within 7 days around 50-60%, but we need to keep letting the penis touch some cloth in a very slight and comfortable manner to let the wound get used to getting touched.
- This will happen for the first week and just walk around the room for 2 mins holding your penis gently half lifted little in air (that's what worked for me :). Don't drink water after 7 pm or at least 3-4 hrs before you go to sleep. Empty your bladder properly before you go to bed. And don't give the pressure on penis (like we give when we urinate - this makes penis harder). 100% pain goes away after 1st week.
- Swelling will go down 30-40% after the first week (for me, may be different person to person, you may heal even faster). You should not feel any pain or discomfort in peeing from first day of surgery as well, as the surgery did not involve the uretra anywhere i guess. Due to Tip swelling you may face aiming issues, sit down and pee don't be ashamed. You may see some pus type formings on penis glans for first few days (not for all ppl), this is 100% normal just give it time to heal (when you do dressing put light vaseline on that pus type forming so that it doesn't stick to the Gauze pad that you wrap.
- Sleep like no one's watching, yes, Fully Naked (Mayb wear a T). don't sleep on your tummy at all, sleep on your back or side. Best position is on Sides in Fetal Position. Put a roll of towel or a pillow between your knees to give some comfortable space for your balls. Also, it's all in the mind, distract your mind and just wear loose fitting pajamas or Track Pants (I wore a Lungi), when roaming in the house. People say underwear is helpful as it holds penis n shit, I personally didn't prefer it bcoz the penis glans needs to be given right air/ventilation to dry and lessen the hypersensitivity faster.
These are a few points no surgeon or clinic would help with or talk to you about it. I am sharing this so that no one else feels the way I feeled (The feeling of being locked in like this forever and stuff). Penis would look aesthetic after a few weeks.
Just take utmost care with the most positive and optimistic mind, you are going to get the best experience. You can get back to sports and gymming post 4-5 weeks, still totally subjective from person to person.
Let me know in the comments if you have any other doubts to be answered. Remember, I am not a doctor, I got my circumcision done and I just shared my first week's experience.
Best Regards
