Hi. I suffer from phimosis. I understand that applying topical steroid cream to my foreskin can help stretch it. Has anyone here used topical steroid creams? If so, which ones?
Thanks.

Hi Man, yes it will help to stretch your skin it will take time it all depends on how severe the phimosis is. a short course of steroids cream would help. it can thin your skin so you should consult your doctor and have things checked out case there is a underlying cause.
If you’re in the UK then topical steroids aren’t sold over the counter and are prescription only so your doctor would have to prescribe. This is a good thing as there’s a variety available in different strengths and the same control should be in place elsewhere. Unsupervised you could do yourself serious and permanent damage if you take a guess at it.
That said, with the right version and under medical direction a short course should help thin and soften the skin sufficiently to assist stretching and make that process less traumatic. This is the precise reason why it’s prescribed for mild to moderate phimosis.
I used one called Desonide on and off for several years, a few weeks at a time. Whenever I would stop, three or four days later there would be itching that would last for months. It might help you, but didn't work for me. Now that I'm circumcised, I don't have to deal with problems like that anymore.
Once again your advice contradicts the evidence backed opinion of the medical profession, even that of Intactivist organisations.
I’m not saying it, it’s not my idea and I don’t hold a view, I’m quoting what the medical profession have as a solution that avoids surgery and is supported by Intactivists like CIRP. That’s who you’re scoffing at with your superior knowledge, not me. 😀
