Hi, i recently got circumcised and 2-3 of my stitches have opened up round the back, there is a big hole and lots of puss, i can feel lots of pain when i put clothes on down the bottom half of my body, what should i do?

Make sure you are using non-adhesive gauze to wrap around the wound. You can then wrap this with a normal gauze. It’s better to keep the wound protected. Medihoney will speed up the process.

I too had a big open wound on the back with a lot of discharge.

Hi. If you have puss do you think you’re infected? Especially if lots of pain. My son on day 4 had an A&E visit as he was in agony and had puss. He had antibiotics and took 2 full days to start working. He was in ridiculous pain. I’d get checked out if you can, you don’t want an infection to get worse. He did get discharge like a waxy substance and his stitches opened due to nocturnal erections. His first week was a complete nightmare. Let us know how you get on

Hey, as everyone else said, in case of doubt, go see your doctor. Better safe than sorry. If you're hurting and puss, contact him/her quickly.Regarding the 'open area', I think most of us had a little area behind the head that stayed open for 6-7 weeks with more or less clear discharge.

I'm on week 8 1/2 now, this area closed completely at week 7.

If it's clear discharge, it's fine. If it looks yellowish and foul, might be interested to get in touch with your doctor.

Stitches popping is pretty common usually cause by night time erections I had 3 go on me on the one side but didn’t get any further treatment and the rest of the stitches were enough to keep it together whilst it healed. The Puss is a problem you’ve most likely got an infection contact your doctor for some antibiotics asap
