Erection and stitches

How did you all deal with erections while you was recovering? I’m good during the day or while I’m awake it’s when i go to slp.

Same thing with me, during the day it’s fine but at night I feel the stitches cutting into my skin every now and then. I’m on Day 5 post surgery so hope it improves

I’m on day 7 and it can be painful when that happens.

You can use strips of skin adhesive tape like ‘Micropore’ over wound area to support it. Then the area won’t stretch on nocturnal erections.

I kept a small ice chest next to my bed for the first week and anytime I would wake up at night caused by pain from erections, I would get an ice pack and put it up against my penis. A few seconds later, it would slowly go down alleviating the pain.

After the first week, erections didn’t cause anymore pain for me.

Dude it really sucks, my first night after surgery I woke up in so much pain, it was like needles stabbing al around my glans ... what really helped was keeping an ice pack on my underwear at night (I keep Vaseline and gauze on top of penis under some tight fitting underwear), ice pack helped slow down the blood flow and I would wake up when blood was filling my penis but at least now I had time to get up, walk to bathroom to pee, obviously don’t drink lots of fluid before bedtime but I had to wake up 3 times a night that first week with the ice, after 2 weeks I stoppped keeping the ice, by then a lot of the stitches had fell out

Yes man frfr it’s crazy. I get up like 2 or 3 times a night. During the day i take a nap that doesn’t happen. It’s so weird. I agree the ice pack does help

I blew out a stitch my first night, I realized the reason the doc wraps that right wrap right after surgery is to keep the stitches in place in case u have a boner lol ... but yea sometimes keeping the legs in a fetal position helps, but waking up to pee makes it go away cause all that blood from your dick goes to the legs, but the ice pack overnight was a game changer ... it would slow down the erection and give me time to take a piss and make it go away

Thank you very much! I’ve been using the ice pack and everything. Interesting enough tho when i came from the hospital they didn’t wrap mine at all 🤔

Really? No dressing? That’s weird ... but keep it wrapped with neosporin and Vaseline with gauze until wound heals up,

Yea I only kept the bandage on for 24 hours so it’s not that big of a deal I guess

Wish i d known about the ice packsband micropore tape.

I had agonies.. as a "grower" I ended up contorted in the living room with my uper half on the floor and my legs up on the sofa, as the penis went up to its full size when erect plus more with the swelling.

I was sniffing nasal inhalers as well..but all was horrible culminating in stitches being pulled.

If anyone else is like me, i d give the surgeon a pic of the penis whem erect so they can cut to the right amount. Drs should give us a briefing on how to handle erection.issues as well.

It’s been a relief reading these comments. I’m one week out post circumcision and MAN the erection thing is a massive problem! I’ve literally not slept more than 4-5 hours a night since the operation. One thing I’ve found is that the real pain is caused by the sphincter pulling. So I’ve been able to control this not happening but you have to wake up in time. If you wake and it’s already a full-on boner, it can be difficult to avoid the sphincter reflex. I’m going to try the ice-packs that people suggest here.
