Changing gauze post-circumcision Op - PAIN !!!

Does anybody know when the pain will go away? I got circumcised 3 days ago and got the gauze changed the next day and it probably hurt more than the actual operation itself.. I am due to go back tomorrow to get the gauze replaced and penis cleaned but dreading it because all day today the frenulum has been stinging with a sharp pain on and off.. it feels like one of the staples on frenulum is caught and is pulling on the gauze.

Will take a pain killer an hour before I go tomorrow as I was recommended in this forum a couple of day ago, but does anybody know when this stinging and pain will go away when simply just taking off the gauze and giving it a clean? the stinging and pain is unbelievable.

Ahhhh…the dreaded dressing change! Yep i used to dread changing the gauze as it always stuck to the frenulum and brought tears to my eyes every time.Best thing for you to do is get a cup of lukewarm water and soak your penis in it until the gauze and discharge soften and it peels off much, much more easily.

I go to the hospital for the change and they tell me never to shower or get it wet until after 2 weeks, when the gauze comes off the padding sticks to frenulum and she says "this will hurt" then tears it off.. fucking hurts so much

It was probably around the 3 week mark that it healed up enough to stop sticking, but my doctor told me to soak my penis twice daily in lukewarm salty water from the end of week 2 and that makes it so much easier. But I’d do what your doctor tells you as he knows your situation better than me,though I personally would ask him about soaking it next time you see him.

Oh boy the infamous gauze changing routine ouch it did hurt a lot as when it dries its sticks to the wounds.Yes I was advised to keep it dry until day 9 so changing gauze was a nightmare than the actual recovery but yeah I tweaked it by letting it soak in saline water for about 5 minutes which helped in getting the dressing loose and it was removed easily. Post day 9 i was advised to keep it open i.e without any dressing just ointment and let it air dry.

My dressing fell off after a couple of days, from then on I used a non stick padding and tight underwear to keep things still. After a week I was taking short baths using either salt or very mild soap. It does get easier. Good luck.
