My journey through ZSR circumcision

Hi everyone, I would like to share my journey through the recovery period post circumcision. I hope it would be helpful for those who are really anxious (as I was in a similar state just before my surgery).

I had undergone circumcision in the third week of December 2021. The main reason for circumcision was inability to pull back foreskin completely over the glans.

Day 0 (Surgery day) - I opted for local anesthesia (instead of general anesthesia or lower body anesthesia). However, local anesthesia wasn't much effective in my case and I had to endure pain during the surgery (Doctor later explained that may be me being chubby/my habit of consuming alcohol could have increased my resistance to anesthesia. So, folks who are bit overweight / consume alcohol may opt for lower body anesthesia to ensure you don't feel any pain during the process). I opted for ZSR circumcision and process took around 30 min. After couple of hours post the surgery, I was discharged.

Day 1 - 2 : I didn't remove the dressing and followed the prescription as suggested by doctor

Day 3 : Removed my dressing completely. Doctor advised against any further dressing so that it may heal faster.

Day 4 - 8 : Stayed completely at home and as much as possible avoided wearing any cloths as glans were too sensitive. Didn't take usual shower but just took mild sponge bath and applied t-bact ointment on the healing area as prescribed. Night erections were bit painful because of pins around the penis. Tried to avoid them as much as possible.

Day 9 : Finally I decided to take regular shower and started wearing loose track pants. Glans were very much sensitive to clothing but I decided to bear it for couple of days and see how it goes

Day 10 -15: Most of the swelling reduced and Glans got used to clothing although I could still feel bit sensitivity (I was still wearing loose track pants and avoided any tight innerwear).

Day 15 - 20 : Was able to walk normally in loose track pants. Started doing normal activities (except gym and other physically intensive activities)

Day 20 - 25 : Pins slowly started to fall off and only 2-3 pin were left. Got completely used to Glans sensitivity and wearing clothes as normal. Erections are no more painful and completely normal.

I am yet to have sex. Decided to take 1-2 weeks more before engaging in any sexual activity.

Feel free to reach out to me in case of any queries. Would be happy to help you.

HI, thanks for sharing, may I ask why did you chose such method? For me it was a big deal to save as much skin possible and luckily my doctor was of a likewise mindset.

Didn't know alcohol usage can mess with anesthetics, for me to this day the injections in the frenulum were the worst pain I ever felt in my life.

Hi, I was recommended stapler circumcision by my doctor due to its relatively quick procedure and gives a better cosmetic look.

Yeah, the local anesthesia could take quite a bit of time to be effective if you are overweight/alcoholic
