Hi guys, I'm on Day 9 post circ, and the wound is still feeling extremely sensitive and looks pretty ugly still - dark, dried blood embedded in certain parts esp over the frenulum area, and some raw-looking skin also. Just want to get a sense of when it really starts to improve in both categories? I've been splashing boiled water (cooled) plus salt over it each day and hair-drying it, but can't bring myself to actually wipe any part of it cos it's too uncomfortable when I touch certain bits. I haven't had a full bath yet as I'm just concerned about infection risk, given it still bleeds a bit. Prob being overly cautious.
One part still looks quite red - it was caught in the bandage/gauze removal (after 28 hours) and bled then, so I assume it's just a little behind the rest. It doesn't smell and hasn't oozed particularly. But I gently tugged on the skin below this part earlier and got a sharp pain, so a bit concerned.
I also still wake most mornings with small amounts of dried blood in my pants, which is never fun to see.
In the evenings it gets very uncomfortable - a heavy, aching sensation that makes every movement arduous. I switch between letting it all hang out, which feels better for wound healing but seems to worsen this aching, and hoisting it upright in pants, which seems to stem the aching but can lead to the slight bleeding/oozing. Neither is ideal!
Does this all sound normal in terms of healing progress?

For me, it was sensitive for like 10 days, thats when i put underwear and got instant improvement, always keep it on. I highly recommend to dip in a a tub of warm unsalted water for 20-30 minutes. That is so blood can get loose and softer, and hopefully your underwear can get rid of some of that blood overnight.
Do you wear underwear or are you fully naked at all times?
Thanks for the tip about soaking in a bath. As I said I'm concerned about the risk of infection given I still have a bit of bleeding, but I guess it's the way to go. I wear pants overnight and for a few hours each day, but my penis always starts to get squashed and to feel uncomfortable, so then I take the pants off and go naked from waist down.
Thanks - I dried a "mug bath" this morning. Super awkward but felt like it helped.
Let the blood dry out, and i think you should be fine for infections as long as you cover it up and don’t let it out. Try put on tight underwear as well, it helps reduce sensitivity by a lot. If you have never done that before, try doing it right before you sleep and when you sleep it will go into different positions, reducing more and more sensitivity. You won’t feel any pain when sleeping.
Tight underwear is very important to reduce sensitivity.
Do nothing to rid yourself of blood clots. They are there for a reason - to protect the areas that are healing. Please also do not tug tge wound - yes it causes pain and does not help healing!!

True, also wear tight underwear and overnight they may fall off on their own, if there is fresh blood underneath, let it dry, then put on clothing. Putting clothing on fresh blood will cause it to stick.
Yes, this actually happened last night - the biggest dried blood patch/scab came off overnight after a series of painful erections, and there was a big smear of blood in my pants. It's exposed my frenulum, which now is pretty sore and still weeping. Wearing a pad in pants to try to catch the weeping, but you're right that it sticks slightly and isn't comfortable. Progress, though!
Good luck on the rest of your healing, mine is still healing but sensitivity is almost gone, just the bottom part is still sensitive
