Hi whitedonkey, I am sorry to hear that you are having problems. Indeed, they look a bit similar to mine
My stitches opened day 9 and I'm on day 22 now and it is still open, but I have now a dry scab there most of the time (and I don't bleed anymore). I went to my doctor on Monday and he said it will not close but heal "from the bottom", and after a year, once it is fully healed, if there's too much skin, we could do another small surgery to fix it...
Unfortunately, I guess it won't close by itself. I guess a scab will form in the area that is now open, and the skin will heal under the scab, forming a new one. I'm sorry to say it will take a weeks... I don't know many, in my case it's been 2 weeks and I think it will take a least more 2 weeks... The healing process seems very slow...
PLEASE take care of the wound so you DO NOT GET any infections. I guess it's the only thing we can do for now. In my case, I shower once a day and just let the water run gently through my dick. I do not let it go all the way into the scab because I don't want to get rid of it now. It gets of course wet but then I dry it with some hospital wrapping/bandage and keep it dry the rest of the day. I also always dry my penis after peeing.
There's unfortunately no easy answer to this issue. Try to find out what works best for you, wish you all the luck and keep us posted. I will send an update from my case once I really have one lol
This happened to me, too. 7 sutures opened up when I sat up and the whole back opened up. I went to see my Urologist immediately and he attempted to add a few more sutures, but they ultimately ripped. It will heal over time! I used neosporin scar ointment (gold packaging) 3 to 4 times a day. Just layer it on and keep your penis upright.
Hi Johnny, thanks so much for your reply. Any idea how long it will take for it to reduce the amount of discharge? It is hard to go back to work like this
Hi, I had a similar problem and looks very similar to how mine looked. I'm at 5.5 weeks post op and it's now almost completely healed apart from a very small scab (3x3mm) Mine didn't really scab until about week 3 in that area, I made a big effort to keep it dry and uncovered (where practical) for about 5 days and I think that helped in allowing the scab to form. Once the scab has formed you'll feel so much better, it still doesnt look great but I found it so much better than having an open wound.
Hi Phil, thanks for your reply. Did you experience any excess skin?
I see. I totally get what you mean, not having a gashing open wound is such a relief. So it took you approximately 1 week and more for it to scab etc? What do you do with the yellow slough?
I find it is difficult for me to get rid of it completely
Hello, as of now all my stitches are gone and except for 1 which is not holding the skin together but haven't really fallen out.
The gaps at the top and the right side have closed, the skin will try to adhere itself back together and the left underside is still a little open but looks much better.
