Circumcision healing
I found tight boxers work ok,they keep you fairly upright most of the time,if you’ve only just been circumcised it may be too sensitive to do with nothing to cushion it.If it is a lot of people wrap some Vaseline and gauze around the top of the shaft and glans, this really helps. But at some point you’ll have to just let it be uncovered as you need to desensitize the glans, but it’s great for relief if you’re really suffering. As to the swelling, well that varies from person to person, some guys are ok in weeks, others take months to se the swelling go down..just luck of the draw, but it does go down eventually.
It is not essential to keep the penis pointing up, but it is proven to assist with reducing the swelling by allowing the excess lymph to drain back into your body.
If the penis is restrained, eg by tightish briefs, then it is stopped from swinging about and getting chaffed or knocked, which can delay healing and give more discomfort.
As with any surgery, the swelling can take several months to completely subside. However, the obvious swelling will usually start to reduce once the stitches are all out (two weeks after surgery), but some deep swelling may continue for some time. Visible swelling should be gone by the time of full healing at 6-8 weeks.
