The stitches can start to dissolve after about 6 days and should all be out by 12 days, but this doesn’t always happen since there are fewer enzymes to dissolve them near the surface than deep inside you, which is where they were originally designed to be used.
The stitches have usually completed their job by day 10. If the stitches have not all fallen out by day 12 then it is desirable that they are removed around day 14 to avoid stitch tunnels forming.
I was told by my doctor it could be 3 weeks before you see stitches falling off
