Infected frenulum

Been to the doctors and been told I have an infection on my frenulum. It's been 4 weeks since my circumcision which is annoying because I was hoping everything would be mostly healed by now. The area where the infection is, isn't sore but it's leaking small amounts of puss. I've been given trimovate cream (I think its called) to apply to that area. Was wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar and how long it takes to clear up as the doc never gave much answers, thanks.

The doctor is failing in his or her obligations if they didn’t provide answers

He/she is a brilliant doctor tbf, really helpful usually. I think they're just so busy just now it'll be difficult for them to give each person 100% focus and time that they need to go over things. It took over a week just to get an appointment when normally you get one the same day.

Frenulum area will normally heal last, especially if you have had circumcision with a frenuloplasty or a frenulectomy. I hope the wound will heal now properly.

May I ask, did you have any wound care routine before you got trimovate cream? I mean like daily salt bath, petroleum jelly to incision line, gauze on wound etc.?

All I've been doing is having daily salt baths and using vaseline. The rest of the frenelum and surrounding area looks fine and seems to be healing well. It's just one spot that has puss oozing out. It was really swollen the first few weeks so that's maybe something to do with it.

Good to hear. Sometimes it just happens. Did your doctor take a swab test first on infected area or just give you antibiotic cream?

Just gave me the cream. Starting to feel itchy since I've started using it which is hopefully from healing rather than the wound worsening.

Hi, I had similar but it was picked up only a week after because it looked horrible and I went back to the hospital. They took swabs and after initially giving me the wrong antibiotics, then got the lab results and put me on the right ones. Took about a week to clear up. I’m surprised they’ve given you a cream rather than oral antibiotics. I’m now at week 8 and apart from minor swelling where the stitches were below the frenulum, I’m nearly back to full fitness!

That's good to hear man. I think I'm gonna have to get it swabbed because it's actually got a bit worse. Starting to nip which it didn't before and the pus is still there. Really annoying because, it's the only bit still giving me bother.
