Stitches were never removed after circumcision. Help!?

So it was 10 years ago when I was circumcised, they used two different types of stitches. One was absolvable(they didn’t need to get removed), other had to be removed.

A few weeks after, when we went to get the stiches removed at a local clinic, the nurse started to remove stitches but it was so painful I lied to her that the doctor who circumcised me told me that all the stiches were absolvable so she stopped immediately(I know soo stupid)!!

So 10 years later, I have realised my penis shape kinda strange, the upper shaft part seems to have swelled, and there’s white lines(feels like threads) under my skin around my head. And sometimes the same parts hurts after masturbating a few times.

I’ve been getting paranoid since then and GUILTY too coz I lied to the nurse. Isn’t it too late to get them stitches out? Or with time, they certainly got absorbed???

Non-soluble stitches would normally be taken out at about 10 days - so you missed that. Those which should have been removed will never be absorbed. They will remain within the skin. You might be able to have them surgically removed.

See the doctor who circumcised you and have him/her remove them ASAP.Failing that, see your family doctor.

I doubt the remaing stitches have dissolved and were absorbed by your body.

They are probably causing your problems.

You may need a second surgery to get them out, but please see a doctor.
