I was circumcised a week ago. When flaccid my glans is still covered by about 25%. So my stitches are under the remaining foreskin. I see contradicting advise about cleaning. Should I retract to clean the stitches (haven’t done this so far) or wait till swelling goes down and let it heal on it’s own?

Circumcision stitches under foreskin
Hi mate, I was circumcised last Thursday myself, I'm in your shoes too! Good luck with your recovery, keep in touch
I used to perform soaking in lukewarm chamomile tea for cleansing the wound and stitches, as suggested by my doctor.
Alike your case, when flaccid, skin covered the glans in the front part, meaning the sides and the frenulum area where exposed. I did notice that the wounds where the stitches were uncovered seemed to heal faster and were always dry and hard on the touch. The covered stitches were always damp and also that part was not that clean (that white stuff).
So after noticing that, whenever I performed the soakings, I would slightly retract the skin so that part gets cleaned better. Then, after pat drying the glans and stitches I would also use the tip of damped paper tissue to clean the white stuff around that specific area.
I think keeping that part dry and clean is the way to go (my results where good as I am 40 days post op) and retracting the skin won't cause you any problems as long, I guess, you are not causing any pain to your wounds.
I am week 8 and yes pull back slowly but wait at least 1-2 weeks till swelling subsides a bit. Go gently and just rinse with water. Dry it after shower
