Major swelling after circumcision

hi! I’m 19 and on day 4 post circumcision. Sins i removed the bandage 2 days ago, the skin between the incision area and the head, has been swollen. The area looks like a donut. It’s red in the front and fades in to a purplish red color towards the elastic thing on the back. I am a bit concerned as it is very sensitive and i get an ichi uncomfortable sensation when wearing pants. It is surprisingly cold to the touch and its soft for the most part. What are people’s thoughts? Should i be concerned?

Hi mate, not at all this is completely normal. Just make sure you keep that area clean, I used to just run warm water in the morning and dress it straight after and before I went to bed.

It will get a lot worse (looks wise) before it gets better. Yellow clear fluid will start coming out but again that’s normal it’s all part of the healing process.

By next week it should start settling mate

On tup of this i have a problem on the back side, where it looks and feels like part of the incision has separated. It’s blood red and, by the looks of it, no stitch is covering it. On top of that, it doesn’t dry/harden, because no matter how i position my penis. It either sticks to my undies ore dissolves in sweat when i sleep or gets separated by a morning wood. It seams hopeless, and it’s very painful. Do you think its infected and in any case, what can i doe to stop it from sticking to very thing?

Mate I think you should contact the hospital or surgeon and explain what’s going on. It’s normal for a bit of blood to come out in between your stitches and especially in the morning after hard ons. But I would speak to your surgeon as a precaution and just for your peace of mind mate.

hey brother you're fine it was the same for me! Make sure you do some warm water and salt baths. (cup of water, then make it salty and pur it over your penis. I did it on the toilet so it wasnt as messy and I did that three times a day) Helps prevent any possible infections. Don't use any jelly or oils until the stitches fall off. Have it wrapped until they began to fall off. Make sure you take showers it helps with the swelling and the stitches. Pain with boners is okay! but don't touch ya self bro. Please that will worsen ya healing. Stay strong! and treat her right! lol

also every time I changed the dressing I cleaned it. Three times a day.

Thanks bro that’s good to hear. I was told “no bathing in saltwater” Dunno why, but It seems a lot of clinics are different in that way. Maybe I misunderstood what they meant by that?

Yea it works wonders mate. If you’re fishy about it just do a quick research on salt water so you can feel comfortable doing it
