Normal?

Ever since I can remember I’ve had a really tight foreskin when erect.

If it’s like normal I can pull it back all the way but it still can be a little hard.

However when it is erect, it looks like it only goes down half way and is very painful. It also looks like the foreskin is attached to the head of my penis

Is this normal?

Hey I’m 17 and I’m the exact same, how old are you?

in reply tosunnycookbin

I see! I’m 20. Have you been to the docs about your concern?

No, I literally don’t know where to turn. I came across this site tonight and it’s helped tremendously.. Yesh I can’t pull it all the way back. Well.. I did once before I nearly lost my virginity but then it was so tight and I just couldn’t . The head is so sore too to touch etc. Have you had sex without pulling it all the way back? Is it sore?

in reply tosunnycookbin

I'm in the same boat!I'm glad it has helped, and thank you for making me feel I am not the only one!!

I see, sorry to hear that!!

Mine is the same, its so sore.

I am not sure if it helps but I had sex about 2 years ago using a comdom and i remember feeling how sore it was, I immediately pulled out and sorted myself out down there.

I was unfortunately molested (unsure if right word) and was forced to have sex at the age of 11 without consent, I remember back then the pain and how sore it was.

I have been doing some looking up online and people have said stretching, I've had a go but I panic as I feel it will get stuck and I can't get it back, can you relate??

That’s awful. Not your fault remember that!! Wow you’ve filled me with a lot of relief tho. Yes it’s so sore and I just wish It’d pull back. I have tried excersises or stretching a few times but I feel like it’s that small and fiddly when soft that it’s a struggle, and when it’s hard it just hurts so I give up

Thanks!

I'm glad I have haha, but I am the same.

Might be worth a shout talking to your GP, but I do know it is hard.

I've booked an appointment for the 10th feb.

I'm thinking of seeing if circumcision is an option, as I'd rather it be okay permanently than a short term fix.

I'm not sure if the rules allow this so forgive me!

If you want to DM me that is more than okay!

Thankyou, and yes how do I contact my GP or doctor?

in reply tosunnycookbin

To confirm, are you in the UK?

Go to phimosisjourney.com for proper stretching technique. You can do it.

nhs.uk/conditions/phimosis/

Your first port of call is to get to a doctor. A doctor can prescribe a steroid cream which can assist in the permanent stretching of your foreskin. Circumcision is generally a last resort if stretching does not work or the phimosis is severe and stretching is not an option.

Really sad to hear that you have that problem. I Had the same too and I'm 17 . No, it's not normal, I wish It was. Sex is supposed to be a pleasurable experience and if it causes any pain or soreness then something Is wrong. I'd recommend going to your urologist, or asking your parents to go to one, because it's life changing. I did last year, they recommended I had a circumcision, which I did, and now it's been 1 and a half months since. Don't ignore this problem as it can get worse with time and you might turn unable to have any kind of sexual interaction.PS: Don't trust stretching alone will help, ask your urologist first.

I hope I helped in any way, keep me updated

Thank you so much!!Sorry for the slow reply I was out of action yesterday.

I ended up speaking to my gp over the phone. Surprising as it was so easy to get hold of him. He’s asked me to try some cream so I’ll give that a go. I am personally feeling a circumcision might be a better thing for the long term though but I’ll see how it goes.

Thanks again!!

Don't let anyone scare you. The foreskin is a natural part of the body which rarely has problems. phimosisjourney.com has your answers.

And don’t let this guy scare you either. From what I’ve seen he has some sort of agenda and some moral hate for circumcision, his advice will 100% be biased so I wouldn’t take it for fact.

mate you might have similar to what I have experienced. I have been circumcised a few weeks ago due to what you call Adhesions where the skin has attaches to the gland (head). Not to scare you obviously, but mine was severe but if you catch it early enough, you can see the pharmasist for advice and there are creams to get based on that condition. assuming this is what you are talking about bud. seek help if it doesnt look right or its painful is my advice as ive left mine far too long thinking "it was normal"

hope this helps and good luck

in reply toFred0121

That’s very helpful. My god. I legit think I have the same thing, as the skin is attached to the head.

I’ll mention that when I have a catch up with the GP.

I’m 20 too and was circumcised at 17. This isn’t normal tho I’m afraid! Mine was the exact same.

GP looked at it for a second and knew it had to be circumcised, mine was v tight tho like I couldn’t have sex with it at all.

Circumcision isn’t all that bad tho honestly! I’ve gotten sososo much more confident since mine! And I’m actually able to have sex and pursue partners etc a lot more confidently!

You will definitely be stressed about it before and after the surgery if you get it, but trust me it’s worth it! You’ll never look back! You’ll feel like a weight is lifted, at least that’s what I felt!

Feel free to message me tho if you need!

Might be good to hear it from someone the same age as you that went through it recently!

Mate when were did your sensitivity die down? I’m on day 5 and I walk like a penguin lol

Fred0121 profile image
Fred0121 in reply toHashiramaSenju

supposenly it can take upto 2 months, was told from my surgeon

HashiramaSenju profile image
HashiramaSenju in reply toFred0121

how long did you have it wrapped up for? if you remember

Randomme profile image
Randomme in reply toHashiramaSenju

My sensitivity died down after about 2 weeks and I was completely fine after 4 weeks, but it gets easier day by day! I’d say I stopped wrapping it up after about 3 weeks tho, then it was fine to just wear clothes like normal(not skinny jeans tho, was another week or two before I wore them)

I wasn’t working at the time, and we were on holidays from school, so I literally just sat in my room everyday with no pants on so the air could get at it, and then slept naked on my side so I never had to have it wrapped up.

Whenever I had to go out, I used to put LOTS of Vaseline on some gauze and just lay it up against the head, this made it completely fine to walk around, just a bit messy in my underwear if anything, but I feel like all the lubrication might’ve slowed down the desensitising if you get me?

I don’t know if it’s an option for you to stay inside, but my recommendation would be to let it breath as much as you can, it’s the most painless way to do it I think!

But regardless of how awful it seems, it’s worth it, you’ll never look back!

Good luck!

It does not matter how far the foreskin moves back on its own during an erection. For some men the foreskin will move all the way back on its own and completely expose the glans (penis head). For others, the foreskin will move partially back and for others still, like me, the foreskin hardly moves back at all during an erection. What matters is being able to manually pull the foreskin back to fully expose the glans without pain, tightness or a struggle.

In your case, you mentioned that your foreskin is tight. See a doctor about it.

You also mentioned that it looks like your foreskin is attached to the glans,

This is normal in young boys. With time, the connective tissue connecting the two structures breaks down on its own and by the mid-teens, the foreskin should be completely separated from the glans. I don't know how old you are, but I think you should see a doctor about that as well.

It is possible you have one problem or the other, possibly both. See a doctor.

If the doctor suggests circumcision, find another doctor. Circumcision is a last option. Also, read the horror stories by others in this forum who have been circumcised. There are gentler ways to fix your problem.
