Sadly each guy is different in terms of their healing time, swelling and sensitivity so it is not possible to give you a timeline. I hope things do not take too long. 6 - 8 weeks post-op, assuming the wound is completely healed and the ends of your sutures have all fallen off, should see you beginning to use your penis for other than peeing!!

You can remove all the stitches now, if you want. Or have someone remove them for you. They've done their job after about 2-3 weeks and are no longer needed. Any swelling, irritation, itchiness, etc, should decrease as you take out the stitches.

My doctor is saying that I should wait until it dissolves naturally..which he said it may take 8 - 12 weeks....

My doctor told me to not remove any either, but I did start removing them after about 7 weeks because they were really irritating and itchy. I called him and told him what I was doing, and asked him if what I was doing was unsafe or risky, and he said no, it's ok to continue taking them out. Maybe ask them again? Having stitches in for 12 weeks or more sounds unreasonable. They can be very irritating, and they aren't helping anything because the wounds healed.

I think it will get complicated if I try to remove by myself as I don’t know how to remove it...some I can see , some I cannot , some are poked out some are inside

You better watch because if the stitches are left to long you will be left with scars and skin tunnels because you will heal around the stitches like a piercing. I have seen people on this forum with pictures of rail road tracks as they called them and skin tunnel due to the stitches being left too long.

As has been mentioned, it is different for everyone. Its taken me about 8-9 weeks to lose my stitches.

One thing though... I will tell you one thing that helped for me. I am not a doc but, you may attempt getting back to your normal routine anyway. I found it helpful to do these sorts of things or watch movies, etc., because otherwise I was focusing too much on the irritation or pain. However if I popped in a movie, it took my mind off things as the irritations and pain faded into the background.
