Hi. I was circumcised 7 weeks ago. My scar is extremely raised and bumpy. Im using some scar cream and I know to get some bio oil. Has anyone else had a really raised scar and did it ever go away??

You seem to be doing the right things. As with scars following any surgery there is no guaranteed timescale or outcome for them. Time alone will tell.

I'm in 7th week after circumcision. I still have a lot of swelling and stitches scars. My doc says it will heal by time. Don't know how long but we need to be patient.

Hey bud,

I had just asked about this myself. I'm at 8 and half weeks now so a little ahead of you and mine has improved drastically in the past 5 days. All my pain and bruising had been gone. It was simply the scar line with the raised bumps where the sutures were.

What's interesting is the right side was bumpier for me, but that's what has flattened the most in the past week. I wish I knew how long it'd take you, but I guess as the others said...patience. You at least should know it's not abnormal. You're likely recovering fine.

Thanks. Im hoping it will get better soon because there's a real ridge there. I have some numbness also like you had.

Oh you do? I will say the numbness improved for me quite a bit in the past week. Mine wasn't like pins and needles luckily, but yeah as I described in my post the head of my penis felt disconnected. Despite that, my sensitivity has been great and I can cum quick if I want to. Orgasms also felt incredible after all the bruising was gone.

I'm waiting until 3 months to consider calling my urologist if the ridges aren't flatter. But it's been progressively getting better. It just takes longer than I'd hoped :( Best of luck man. I think you're likely healing well. It's just a tough slog waiting on recovery. It especially has been for me with all the psychological baggage I have from my phimosis. I did not have a normal experience, so waiting even more is difficult. It's what it is though.

I’m at 9 weeks. The skin up my shaft looks totally normal, then you hit the little “trench” where the sutures were, and beyond that the skin is puffy and lumpy looking. It’s pretty obnoxious and hasn’t changed much lately. Supposedly it will subside, though? How’s yours doing?

Same bro. I still have a bit of swelling there on the right side and underneath on the frenulum too. But the scar line is bumpy. I noticed 2 weeks ago I could clearly see where each suture was threaded with every bump. I've noticed those have blended together since then. I'll take that as a good sign. I'm at 12.5 weeks post OP now.

I imagine the scar remodeling is going to take several months. I'm not excited about that either, but it's not like there is anything we can do to speed it up other than Bio Oil and Silicon Sheets. If it's very bumpy after a long time, then maybe you'd consider a revision to flatten it. That'll be my approach.

I guess long story short is that "it'll be all healed in 6 weeks" is a bunch of BS, haha. Glad to hear things are still improving for you; gives me hope that I'm not just stuck with a ring of puffy, achey skin.

Hey... Has ur scars and bumps flattened by now? I m facing the same issue

You might have sutures running around the length of the scar. They’re called subcuticular continuous sutures. They’re commonly used in adult circumcisions. They’re a long, single suture with a knot tied at one end so it can be anchored down. They also have an outside stitch tethered to it, at least mine did. If you feel small lumps under the skin, or if the scar feels stiff and ropey, that’s probably why.

I’m not sure how long they last. My doctor told me they were dissolvable, but at 8 weeks, they were still as present as ever.
