Tight foreskin with type 2 Diabetes

I’ve had this tightening of my foreskin in the past when my blood sugar was high for a week or 2 and once my readings were back to normal the tightness went away. Well the past 2 months I’m getting my blood sugar under control but the tightness has not gone away. Anyone with diabetes out there who has had similar problems and can advise?

Hi I'm type 2 Sorry never heard it effecting the foreskin at all, I would bring it up to your Family Dr, Stay Safe 👍

Thanks!

I have type 2 and high blood sugars can increase your risk of foreskin infections. It may be that you have been lucky in the past to have got rid of them naturally but this time your body is not able to do that. See your doctor and get on top of your problem.

I’ll take it up with my doctor, but he hasn’t taken a look at my penis since He became my primary a year and a half ago (maybe HE’S shy!) My former doctor checked it regularly and told me that tightness of the fore skin in uncircumcised men was one of the first signs of diabetes. My entire life my fore skin has never been a problem. In fact when I had an erection it was not apparent that I was uncircumcised.

My doctors are the same. They try to say don’t be shy or embarrassed they deal with this every day etc but if I got a female doctor they would make me make another appointment with a male doctor even though my primary caregiver is a female . They will only look at one condition per appointment and just don’t seem to be interested. This new way of econsults is rubbish too they don’t read them properly or read you records. I was replied to by email once giving me cream for hemaroides on my back passage. I phoned the surgery the following day asking how much and how to apply the cream. The doctor I got on the phone said that the cream was for external condition only and I have an internal problem which I clearly said. I have never been given an intimate examination as routine. Sorry rant over.

Sorry still on a rant. The first time I got balanitis I didn’t know what it was so I called the out of hours doctor who wouldn’t even examine me just gave me antibiotics. This didn’t do anything I think it made me worse. The second doctor examined me and gave me cream which cleared it but as soon as I stopped the cream it came back. It was the third doctor who took a swab and had it tested to confirm that it was thrush causing the problem. He also said the antibiotics would have made it worse.
