Hi all, it's been near enough a week since my operation and I just have a few questions.
1. My penis is still considerably swollen and bruised- more prominent on one side. Is this still normal and will it gradually go down?
2. I found that I am peeing much more regularly and it is slightly more difficult to do so. When starting it just splits into multiple streams, has anyone else experienced this?
3. The head of the penis looks to be getting a little dry. Is that normal? If not what is recommended?
Thank you!

Yes to all 3. One week is very, very early into the recovery, it will gradually get better between the 2nd and 4th week, depending on your body, etc. I also did the split stream for 2 weeks or so, but I didn't pee more often than usual.
The glans is getting used to being exposed all the time, hence the dryness and possible skin peeling. Nothing sounds unusual, but if something is specially bothering you, ask your GP.
The three things you mention are perfectly normal and natural.
You are still very early in your 6-8 week journey to full healing. There is bound to be some bruising from tnhe handling your penis necessarily got during the circumcision. The swelling is also to be expected after any wound. Things may get worse looking for the first two weeks but will then improve, if slowly.
Due to the swelling, your urine stream is very likely to turn into a spray for the first few weeks. It is advisable to sit down to urinate until the spray ends and a neat jet resumes.
Your glans is actually intended to be dry, but when encased in the foreskin needs to be coated with moisture to allow for retraction without the two sticking together.
Mine took about 2 weeks for the swelling to disappear. I’m on week 3 and it’s still pretty bruised. Circumcision causes swelling around the urinary tube . The more the swelling disappear, the easier it is to pee. And expect it to get dryer. The glands are drying out And be thankful for that because it helps you lose your sensitivity
Thanks! Yep, I'm definitely thankful for the loss of sensitivity. Does the "dry skin look" disappear eventually? I assume it's just temporary because it's not used to being exposed.
Also, as someone on week 3, aside from the healing process not being fully complete yet are you pretty much back to normal functionality?
I’m actually not sure if the dry skin look will go away? I guess we’ll find out the hard way lol and not quite. Its healed to the point over half the stitches have dissolved but It’s still overly sensitive so I keep a gauze wrap around it . But I can pee w no problem, and even carefully masturbate( which is probably frounded upon in week 3 lol) I’m still bruised but I don’t walk around hurting or anything. . the first week is hell, the second sucks but the 3rd isn’t bad. It’s all uphill now and it gets better with everyday.
Something that I’ve experimented with that may help. Applying a generous amount of Vaseline petroleum jelly on the head. Gets rid of the dry look and reduces sensitivity. Helped immensely with sensitivity as well.
Yes all the 3 points are normal and happens post all circumcision surgeries.
1. The penis will be swollen for few more days.
2. Uneven and uncomfortable peeing is there because the tube which carries the pee out of penis is contracted due to swollen and will be fine once the swelling is not there.
3. The penis head will be dry and will be changing its color from red-pink-white-brown. It will be settled within few weeks.
