Hi,
I'm on my 7th day of recovery from Circumcision and was actually wondering what the stitches are holding together? And what it's attached to. It's hard to tell with all the yellow stuff and the swelling (which is decreasing).
Thanks

Hi Kaine, is the yellow stuff all around where the stitches were? I have this too. I think my stitches have come loose and now I can see what looks very raw - bloody and yellowish. I’m getting quite anxious as I wasn’t told about any of this from my urologist.
The stiches are holding your internal shaft skin with your external shaft skin. I probably can't really describe precisely how it's done or what it should look like, but that's something I've questioned my GP. Also, don't worry about that, it's still starting to heal now and that yellowish liquid is very common at the beginning of your recovery. You're probably dressing it before going to bed and once you get up you go undress it to see what it looks like and the gauze is soaked in a yellow/red liquid, that's pretty normal unless there's a wound open, in that case, you should get this seen by your doctor.
Cheers
These days many surgeons prefer to leave the wound more ‘open’ so that it drains as it heals instead of building up and causing swelling. They do this by using fewer stitches, e.g. I only had nine, some have 20 or more.
Your leakage is therefore likely a good thing as a short-term stage of your healing. Obviously you should see your doctor if concerned or if you have pus and signs of infection
yellowish is thing is usual, no worries, its happening cause a new tissue is forming there, continue to use antiseptic lotion suggested by ur doc, u ll enjoy good healing, keep it clean, cheers
