16th Day after Circumcision for phismosis

Its my 16th day since my surgery and I see others here saying they can wear clothes at this point but its still too sensitive for me to do so, is it normal for sensitivity to stay for this long and is there anyway to speed up the process of reducing sensitivity because I want to be comfortable for once.

It is quite usual for sensitivity to be an issue for different lengths of time for different guys. Some advocate just letting it rub against clothes to hasten the end of severe sensitivity. Others have protected the glans with Vaseline and gauze.

If I do go through the pain and let it tough things how long do you think it will take for the sensitivity to leave?

in reply toGre721

Impossible to say, really. I would hope that a week or two would show a difference.

Should I let it touch alone or put something in between like Vaseline

in reply toGre721

If you are going for the tough it out path then leave i would it without anything inbetween

Do you think putting Vaseline will significantly decrease the loss of sensitivity because its really bad

im at day 18 and i used gauze to not feel pain... the sensitiviy went away a few days ago and now is tolerable... its still bad but not as bad as the begining... if its too bad just put gauze in it and wait... it doesnt hurt to wait

I'm glad you said that. I kept reading advice where it seemed that sensitivity would not go away if I kept putting gauze on. Unfortunately, I cannot wait for the sensitivity to go down. I'm on week 11. I am guessing my medication is making my sensitivity and healing occur slowly.

Hey so a stitch that wasn't visible before is now sticking out in a way that it is always hitting and latching onto my clothes, is it safe to like cut it or something?

in reply toGre721

Hi. I never advise guys to deal with suture themselves. I think that it is always wiser to get a doctor or nurse to sort them out.

I’m almost six weeks out and still have some sensitivity in certain spots, although it’s getting better.

6 weeks??? Is it atleast touchable?

Same. I am wrapping it in gauze and gentle tape when I go out. I wish the sensitivity would just go away already. I am not using any ointments in hopes it would dry out quickly.

If you are worried about the discomfort/pain then just start gradually, it doesn’t have to be a full switch. Just start using less and less gauze, when taking a shower start with lukewarm water and slowly pour it over your penis and after a while use warmer and warmer water and increase the pressure of the water, finally let it air out for a while without anything on.

I started wearing underwear on my 28th day. It is still pretty sensitive (one month post operacion), but it is ok now. Don't worry, your sensitivity will decrease over time.
