Both the procedures are actually done for different indications . It is not like one is better than the other but they are done for two different reasons.

So there's actually nothing to compare here . A frenuloplasty is done to elongate the frenulum if its short and a circ is mainly done for phimosis and some times also to remove the foreskin and frenulum both . So it ultimately depends on your doctor and his judgement. If you are still worried you might want to find out more by discussing why he has told you as such . All the best !

Hey , you don't have to call me sir . There is definitely no "better" operation . Like I said above , both the operation address different problems. Short frenulums generally are rectified by Frenuloplasty but if they cannot be rectified or if they don't have a good outlook then the doctor will make the call to make it a circumcision where he might remove the foreskin and the frenulum.

In most people undergoing circumcision for other purposes , the frenulum may be left without being removed as well. So it entirely depends on your doctors call.

Also there are other indications for circumcision such as recurrent infections and such so it is best to discuss which procedure is better suited to you with your doctor. All the best !

When I had my frenulum removed the surgeon warned me that some patients develop scar tissue that subsequently required a full circumcision. Maybe that's what your doictor was trying to explain? Regarding which is best, I would go with the doctor's advice based on their experience with other patients.

If you have phimosis you MAY need circumcised at some point. Since you are having issues with your frenulum, you might want to have it removed and get circumcised at the same time. If you just have the frenulum removed and continue to deal with phimosis, you’re dealing with two separate recovery periods.

I think circumcision.

what is the level of your phimosis? is the foreskin opening really small or you can retract it to certain degree?

Its very narrow nor in flaccid nor in erect i could pull foreskin back and only 5% could see my glans

frenuloplasty should solve short frenulum problem. your phimosis however, just like your doctor say is indeed quite tricky.

there are options though, these are what I can think of:

1. stretcing foreskin using sterood cream, the length of treatment and effectiveness is unknown.

2. circumcision, you can read forum for benefits and downsides of it before making decision.

3. dorsal slit, non invasive, but you should check if cosmetic outcome is to your taste.

discuss with your doctor and seek as much info as possible so you can make a decision that you won't regret.

good luck, wishing you the best.

Hello !! My advice is to get that frenuloplastey first and to let circumcision as a last solution!

Frenuloplasty and if it is with laser better and without sutures better even (there are options)

sounds as though he's attempting to treat yourtight foreskin with a lesser of the evils approach, which is the way to go. by relaxing your frenulum you may be able to stretch and retract your foreskin. your doctor sounds ethical.
