White patches and skin on my glans. Balanitis? What is it?

Hi i have this weird condition for about 1-2 months now and i have no idea what it is. It doesn’t hurt nor itch, however my foreskin kinda sticks to my glans when i try to retract it which makes it difficult to retract. There is also this skin-like substance where i could wash it away but it comes back every day or two. Im getting really worried, would appreciate if there is any response.

Hello, no i do not put any moisturiser. I’m currently afraid it will cause further damage :(

Ok go see doc you could try AQUEOUS cream it's relief for dry skin and as no chemicals in it is fragrance free and lanolin free this is very good stuff I use it

Yes in my opinion it does look like an infection and as Hidden has said it's mostly caused by yeast . Would suggest you to keep the area and dry . Also you might have to use antifungals/antibiotics for a short duration based on your doc s eval . Also you might have to use a topical moisturiser for dryness caused by the infection later . Tone down on wearing tight briefs and underwears and see a doc . Make sure you maintain hygiene and bath twice if possible esp it you live in hot and humid places ! Don't worry about it too much but yea you need a consult whenever you can get it as these kind of stuff tend to become harder to get rid off later . Take care !

Hi thanks for the advice, i will be putting it to use. I’m thinking of having a consultation soon if it is persistent

2 months is pretty long to wait in my opinion. Best to get the consult sooner than later and start the treatment . If it's something that can be get rid of easily it would be earlier rather than when it has progressed . Take care !

You're right. I'll definitely visit the doc soon, thank you for the replies!

Do you not think it might be sensible to get to a doctor to get a proper diagnosis and appropriate treatment? This is not a diagnostic forum.

Hey, i understand that this a not a diagnostic forum. I only wanted to hear and gain some insights as to what it is from people who had it/knows about it. I do not want to go to the doctor's if it is a mild condition that can be cured at home and my parents will not have to worry.

in reply toNormalstranger1234

How old are you? The issue is that we cannot say whether it is a mild condition or not. If someone on here says it is something like they had, it may or may not be.

I'm 18. I appreciate your concern, if it does not get better I will definitely visit the doctor.

Great. The sooner it is diagnosed and treated the better. If you are in the UK you will not need to worry your parents as you are an adult and can access care.

Hey there,

i do not have any discharge or any other symptoms. I am also uncircumcised. It does not swell or have any red spots as well. I’m starting to think its yeast infection too as the foreskin sticks to the glans more in the past few days. Do you think it would be possible to cure it at home? Or would advise a visit to a doc?

BXO/LS????

in reply toahhh453

Possibly. I hope that a doctor consultation will rule that out.

I see. I will try to see what products work best for the time being, circumcision will be my last resort if it worsens... I thank you so much for your time and advice, really appreciate it. :)

When I see that on my own penis tip, I call it what I know it to be...congealed smegma. One wash later, and it's gone. If you wash it, very thoroughly, and it's not gone (COMPLETELY!) start asking white coats about it. You need to get this off your mind. Let the right people do that for you.

If your issuse is still not resolved. Google for 'Lichen Planus of Glans Penis' and check if the results matches your scenario. This was diagnosed for me and the issue was similar. No itching, but growing very slowly. Soap supplement wont solve it. I cannot reveal my prescribed ointment that worked for. The clearing results started from the first day of appliying it, but took 2 weeks to clear with hyper pigmentation, which not getting cleared.

A regular doctor or Gum clinic wont be helpful and will cause delays. Dermatologist should approached for proper diagnosis and prescription.

Hope it helps.

Not sure this’ll work for you but worked off the charts for me. I’ve been clean with my dick. From childhood, my dad taught me to retract my foreskin and clean well with soap and water. However, as an uncircumcised grown man, by end of the day my dick wasn’t as fresh and I always noticed an unpleasant smell. I’m very active both physically and sexually so I’m always careful to clean well. A few years ago after hanging out a pub, I took a girl to my car for some quick action. She immediately went to blow me....NICE I thought! But when she put my dick in her mouth she said “ew it tastes like uncut dick!” I was fucken embarrassed and my soldier would not rise to the occasion. After that embarrassing night I researched a little and found out that by rinsing with Listerine mouth wash my dick would remain fresh hours after showering, so I incorporated listerine into my dick hygiene, which stung a little at first but eventually got used to it. I forgot to mention that I,d suffer from rashes under my foreskin. These also disappeared after using listerine. I never hooked up with that girl again, but I haven’t gotten any more complaints from girls and my soldier stays clean, fresh, and upright. American girls aren’t that good at oral, but they’re less willing to try if yr dick grosses them out. I hope listerine works for you my brother. See your doctor though

BTW I used the Listerine Blue mouth wash. If the sting is unbearable try diluting it with cold water at first and eventually work your way to using it 100%. I’ve been circumcised since May 2020 and am happy with my results. I don’t use Listerine anymore, as I don’t need it. Circumcision isn’t for every guy, but cleanliness/hygiene should be every guy’s practice circumcised or uncut. That way you will be confident when she goes below the belt. Ziiiip....slurp,slurp hmmm moaning and you know the rest!
