Can lowered testosterone reduce penis length?

Hi. I'm currently having tests because of very frequent night sweats. Around 75 since Christmas. Clinicians are concentrating on possible cancers. Hopefully they'll be negative.

However, I'm sure I've read that low testosterone can have night sweats as a side effect. If it does prove to be that, I do wonder if it could have anything to do with my penis length. I've the last couple of years, it has actually gone down from 7.2 erect, to 5.5. At first, I thought my shaft girth was thicker than usual and I put that down to a recent circumcision, after an auto-immune problem. However, the girth is probably what it's always been and just looks thicker because of the reduced length.

I should add that there is no shaft buried in my public pad, a problem I know can follow circumcision.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

As far as I know, a level of testosterone which falls does not cause your penis to shrink.

Thanks for getting back to me, in the right forum!!

I think I need to mention it to my GP then at some point. I'm currently shielding at home, so face to face contact won't be possible. However, since the change has been happening (presumably slowly) over some time, waiting some more won't make much difference. Thanks again.

Pleasure to speak again on the penis forum. I had low testosterone and had no night sweats or penis shrinkage - fortunately!! I am on testosterone replacement injections and that shrinks your testicles. A common cause of low testosterone can be a pituitary gland tumour.

The reference to the pituitary gland is interesting. In 2011 I had meningitis. During the infection my temperature was sky high. When it began to come down again, it didn't stop when it was back at 37 but continued on to 34.5. My core temp is now generally around 35. My GP said that the meningitis possibly adversely affected my pituitary gland which, among other things, regulates temperature. I'll check with the GP about that and any potential problems there. Thanks again.
