Trauma from surgery & fear of sex

I am 2 and a half months post circumcision surgery and it’s still very tender and sore around the scar where the stitches are as I have mentioned in an earlier post. Every time I think about having sex I’m scared it’s going to hurt as it’s still a bit sore and I’m nervous as hell to try and do it. It’s affecting my relationship and I have no sex drive to do anything because of the fear of hurting it. Is this normal or are there ways to overcome this?

Do you still have stitches? They should have been removed after 2 weeks to prevent 'tunnels' and to reduce swelling. Get any remaining ones out as soon as possible now.

It should be safe to have sex, but use a condom for a few weeks to protect the new skin.

No stitches it just stil feels very tender around the scar. Ok will do just more the mental state I’m in I am nervous as hell to do it

Perhaps try a session with non-penetrative sex as a starter.

Hi, by now the stitches should definitely be out, if they are not then yes you will be in pain and should.go to a doctor to get them out. If they are out then it definitely wont tear or anything, so you can use it with confidence. Ifs a matter of too much pain, you could try a numbing cream around the scar until you redevelop confidence.

Opps missed the reply that said your stitches are out. It might be more about overcoming the fear.

This is not wholly uncommon. Have you tried introducing some sensation to the head, such as gently running a shower spray over it to help you become accustomed ? The pain does eventually go.

Do not rush into sex, take your time and just enjoy erections.

First few times use plenty of lube, I tried condom but found it a faff to remove afterwards.
