Painful tight white line after Frenuloplasty (4 months on)

I've been searching the web for a while looking for answers to this. I had yet to find anything useful until I came across this website, so I thought I'd give it a go here. Any advice would be useful.

I met with a Urologist back in November because I had an extremely tight frenulum and wanted it solved. I could pull my foreskin back easily when flacid but when erect it just about got over the head before becoming very painful. The doctor recommended a Frenuloplasty and I had the operation a few weeks later.

A few weeks after the operation, once the stitches had dissolved, etc, I noticed I still had the same issue. I could pull the foreskin back fine when flacid but once again when erect I could barely get it past the head. The frenulum was gone but I now had a tight white line where where it used to be which was causing difficulty. All the skin around has plenty of flexibility and could be pulled back further, but this new white line (perhaps scarring?) is preventing it.

I went back to the Urologist and he said he thought it was a successful operation and that I should give it a few months. It's now been 4 months since the operation and although I can pull the foreskin slightly further back than before the operation, it still barely gets past the head when erect (due to this tight white line).

Any advice? Should I try using steroid cream to losen it up? Or perhaps oils? Do I need a circumcision? (although I don't thinkt that's the issue as my foreskin is long enough everywhere else, it's just as I said this tight line is preventing anything).

Thank you, any advice is much appreciated.

Stretching the frenulum is one solution. Because individual anatomies differ so much, you'll need to determine your own most effective way to grip it. If you can grasp both ends, do so and apply gentle but firm tension snd hold ig 2-3 min, 3-5 times per day. If you can't grip where the foreskin attaches, pulling away at end where the per hole is will also work. After each time you pee, take a moment to give a tug to keep the little web flexible. If you do this, it should sort out in less than six weeks.

Wouldn't my frenulum have been removed as per the operation. So I should be stretching this white line?

For clarity, the white line starts lower than where the frenulum was (i.e. isn't attached to the top of the head), however, does follow the same direction as the frenulum did.

Perhaps it was removed or altered. Every surgeon has his own style. What is left can be stretched, but in absence of something to grasp, you'll need to apply pressure and then stretch the tissue

Hi, I had a frenuloplasty in September. My frenulum is still a bit short when my penis is flacid it bends. When it’s erect it’s not as bad. Will it snap if I have sex? Please help I really don’t know what to do

Stretch it. A routine of 1-2?min, 5 times per day, every day for six weeks will do wonders.

Hi, I’ve been stretching it. It’s quite sore and stings a bit but I’ve seen some progress. Do you think it Will snap if I have sex?

Does this actually work? I’m worried I’m just hurting myself

Hi, yes I definitely would try the stretching your skin will stretch in time. if you use some steroid cream just around that area it should really help, if not some Bio-Oil would help. if it is scar tissue though it may not stretched that well and I would return to your urologist surgeon.

I'm unsure whether it's scar tissue or not, it's simply a small white line.

Any stretching exercises you know of? I'm worried about ripping this white line if I stretch too hard. However, it is a lot less painful to stretch than the frenulum was (back when I was trying that before having a Frenuloplasty).

Thank you!

Stretching should help to prevent scarring.

Yes I'm sure it is some scar tissue any surgery will leave a scar. I'm trying to imagine what you are describing. the best way to stretch it would be to use some Bio-Oil and massage this in applying pressure to the skin in opposite directions, and even having regular erections would really help. I presume your foreskin is ok and you don't have any phimosis. If it continues to cause you trouble I would go back to your doctor you me need to have it released a little bit more.

I actually think I had this happen to me as well. I got really paranoid but my doctor told me it was scar tissue and that stretching would help. And to massage boo oil. I think after 5-6 months the tightness was completely gone and fine!

Well it is good to hear that someone else perhaps had the same thing I do! It's definitely got me paranoid. How did you go about stretching?

Thank you!

Hey, randomuser123, you are not alone. I have exactly the same issue. The white thing (tissue probably) looks like stitch/cord and it's very tight and hard. The difference by me is that I also had full circumcision. I am now 5 months post OP, but unfortunately no progress. You can check my only one post in my profile. There is link with pictures.

So I am also curious about the stretching, because I don't have an actual frenulum, which I can "grab" and stretch. The only option is massage. IDK if this will help, but I am massaging it 3 times a day - twice with steroid cream and ones with aloe gel.

I had this operation also and it needs some time.

How long would you say? I’m 10 weeks post op and I still have pain when I get an erection where about .75 Cm of the frenulum was removed. The surgeon gave me a steroid cream 3 weeks ago to get some flexibility and limit scarring. It still hurts at night, especially when I get an erection. Is this going to take more time or is this permanent? I’m already depressed thinking about it :(.

It took 6 weeks in my case Frenuloplasty, before it was al functional again. Do you have a picture ? So that we can take a look?

I’ll post my situation and a picture on the main newsfeed.

Without being able to see and examine your frenulum area as the urologist can do, it is impossible for any of us to give a proper diagnosis.

I do note that you say you had a frenuloplasty rather than a frenulectomy. A frenuloplasty may only divide the frenulum and not remove any of it. It can also leave more scarring than when the frenulum is fully removed - especially if done as part of a circumcision.

You need to follow current advice from your doctor, but if there is no improvement in a month or two then if I were you I'd seek advice from another doctor and possibly consider having a circumcision so there is nothing to get in the way of full sexual pleasure.

I can provide a picture if that would help?

I also had the exact same issue as you. I had a frenuloplasty done last June and I was left with a tight white line/ tissue in the frenulum area also. I got a full circumcision last December.

Someone please reply. I had a frenuloplasty but I think my frenulum is still too short. What can I do ?

Just get a freaking circumcision. Now that your fren is removed, a circumcision will heal better and faster as it is just skin and the glan takes about 3 months max to heal if antibiotics are taken and vaseline applied everyday. You will not have night painful erections after circumcision since your fren is not there. Chill brother your condition is not as worse as mine.

Randomuser123 were you able to fix it with stretching?
