Hi guys I just had a revision circumcision this morning to remove a bumpy scar line from a previous circ I had as a child. Basically a thin band of skin was removed and it was restitched. Pain was fairly bad for the first 6-8 hours but it seems to be easing up now. I checked on it a little while ago and it’s starting to show some bruising and swelling but I have been icing it regularly throughout the day. I really need to do everything I can to make sure the scar heals flatter this time. Surgeon said stitches will take about 3-4 to dissolve, does that sound a little long? I want to avoid skin bridges as I had a couple before. I have some antibiotic ointment I am going to apply with a loose dressing the next couple of days and continue to ice for the next little while.

I have had literally the same situation. Did you feel pain when trying to do penetration with not enough lubrication?
Good luck with everything
Three to five weeks for stitches to drop off seems a reasonable estimate based on own experience and that of others on here.
My understanding is that skin bridges are formed where the remaining foreskin is allowed to re-attach to the glans due to neglectful aftercare, i.e. in patients where the foreskin was still fused to the glans prior to circumcision. In such cases stitching wouldn’t be the cause.
Applying ice is only beneficial where a sprain injury is involved (unless you just want it cold). It probably won’t help your wound or with swelling and Dr Google will confirm that. There is a risk ice could carry bacteria that would infect the wound although you might counteract act with your antiseptic ointment (which is normally unnecessary BTW).
Good luck.
Hey mate, any update? How things going? Am considering revision for a bumpy scar line too - would be keen to see before & after pics. cheers
