No

If you are a grower then it’s probably best not to have it cut too tight or your penis may be pulled into your body when erect. Otherwise the size shouldn’t decrease.

I’m a grower and this it was happen but it will take alittle time before the skin stretch and get things back erection can help this to get back to norm

I was circumcised a little over eight months ago, and haven't noticed anything as far as size goes. Just the excess skin that was always in the way, with nowhere to go.

in reply toCircedandlovingit

The foreskin is not just excess skin!

SadWilly profile image
SadWilly in reply to

I have the extra skin from restoring my foreskin. It not only looks terrible, but has affected having orgasms. The stretching products are just a big scam, sold to guys who the intactivists have convinced have been 'mutilated' by circumcision

in reply toSadWilly

What you gain by stretching post circumcision is not foreskin. Once gone it is gone. You just have stretched skin and should not be surprised if it was not like foreskin as it is not foreskin.

Having a restoration is even worse. I restored my foreskin and the skin just flops around everywhere

I’ve lost four inches when erect ☹️ Despite what all the medical staff tell me I have gone from 8 inches erect to 4 inches erect. They keep insisting the skin will eventually stretch, but I just can’t see this happening. I have also lost total length when flaccid, I can’t even pee stood up as there is nothing to hold. Circumcision has totally ruined my life 😢

Erectile profile image
Erectile in reply to7661042354

Balanitis is the splitting of the foreskin from the gland head & red blotches, similar to blisters on the gland head. It’s sometimes caused by poor hygiene, but in my case it was an infection.

JamieRay in reply toErectile

The change in size (although I find 4 inches to be somewhat unbelievable) is not actually the size of the penis, unless they cut the actual penis which they do not. Before your were circumcised you had the skin to hold right down to the very bottom of the shaft making it appear longer. Now the skin has gone (and you will find this cleaner and healthier, because a penis with a tight foreskin is somewhat disgusting) you don't have the excess skin to hold the penis right down at the bottom of the shaft. It appears I have lost some size for the same reason but it's not size you have lost it is just skin and your sexual performance will not be effected. In fact you will find it will increase as more people are attracted to cleanliness then a tight foreskin. You have lost some skin, the size has not changed, they have not touched your actual penis itself. If you feel it has effected your mental health I suggest you talk to your GP about this.

JamieRay profile image
JamieRay in reply to7661042354

No, if anything it increases as there is more blood flow in the glans (head)

Erectile profile image
Erectile in reply toJamieRay

Thanks for your reply. This is what everyone says, it’s not possible, but believe me I have lost length. I can not now stand to pee, as there is no length to protrude out of my trousers. Secondly, when erect I can’t even get my whole hand around the shaft, as it’s so short. I can also feel the root of my erection in my groin, as it can’t stretch the remaining skin far enough. I understand it’s only skin that’s been removed, but I believe they have stitched me too tight. In answer to your last comment, my GP is extremely concerned & awaiting a response to my formal complaint. He is seeing me on a weekly basis as he too believes I have received sub standard treatment.

JamieRay profile image
JamieRay in reply toErectile

Actually that does not surprise me on the NHS. I am healing well from what I can see from these forums but my aftercare was terrible. I was not given a follow up appointment. I was lied to by the hospital on many occasions and given different advise from different so called consultants. Fortunately, I am experienced with this and have friends in the medical profession who have confirmed i am fine and just need healing time. As each day passes I notice slight changes so I am on my way. Yes, size wise it looks a little shorter as I can no longer hold the skin right back to below the shaft to make it apear longer but that does not worry me tbf. The feeling of cleanliness I now have has made me feel so good, even if the recovery has been a little traumatic. From what you say I am sure there will be something they can do and this is a very rare case indeed. You may need to have further surgery to correct this but I am sure something can be done especially if it continues to cause you pain. When were you circumcised?

Erectile profile image
Erectile in reply toJamieRay

I had the surgery at the end of August. I fully accept that my penis may appear shorter, due to the fore skin not overhanging, but it is my shaft that’s shorter. As already said I can not stand to pee I have to sit, purely because there is no shaft to grab or hold. This certainly was not the case prior to surgery. Also, when erect I was just shy of eight inches, skin pulled back, now when erect I am not even four inches. The penis is stretching as much as possible, which causes pain, and I can feel the rest of my erect penis in my groin. Once I receive their convoluted reply to my formal complaint I am going to take legal action. Doesn’t sit comfortably with me, but others have to be saved from this appalling level of treatment.

Also I wonder what causes it. This wouldn’t happen to everyone getting circumcised.

There are thousands of men who are circumcised and above average ( 7 inches plus)

Based on the before pic it doesn’t look like you needed circumcision. And I am sorry that your results didn’t come out as they should have. Probably not a very skilled doctor or there was another issue (non standard) that he encountered during the procedure.

JamieRay profile image
JamieRay in reply to7661042354

What they are referring to is the loss of the skin. Before circumcision you have excess skin which allows you to hold the penis right down to below the shaft which can make it look longer during erection but it is not really larger, it is what is referred to as psychosomatic and a macho image. However people (woman & gay men) do not find tight foreskin attractive especially when it comes down to oral sex and will avoid it without telling you why to spare any hurtful feelings. When I was circumcised I asked the surgeon to leave me with enough shaft skin to masturbate and to look good both flaccid and erect and he has. If you prefer you can have the 'Dorsil Slit' circumcision which is where they just take away the tip of the foreskin and actually leave you with the foreskin which is retractable. However the recovery of the 'Dorsil Slit' if very painful as during recovery your foreskin remains in front of the head and you have to urinate through the dressing which really stings. Also erections sting a lot but that decision is up to you. If you have a tight foreskin that can't be retracted comfortable to reveal a clean dry head you need circumcision for health reasons as you are harbouring bacteria underneath that is not healthy and can increase your chances of sexually transmitted infections and HIV. I had the 'Dorsil Slit' circumcision done aged 6 but in later life had the full circumcision because I still had adore problems coming from under the foreskin when flaccid. As for size the surgeon does not cut the penis in any way shape or form so if your are 5 inches now you will be 5 inches after and there is nothing wrong in having a smaller penis. In fact it is far better to have a small clean penis then a big dirty one.

7661042354 profile image
7661042354 in reply toJamieRay

i just had 5.5inches penis and i dont want to lose length

JamieRay profile image
JamieRay in reply to7661042354

You will not lose any length. 5.5 inches is not small anyway. If you are getting sexual rejections it is nothing to do with the size of your penis it is to do with sexual hygiene. You will also find that once you have an exposed head post circumcision your orgasms will increase in pleasure 100 fold. You will be very sensitive to erections for a while, you sex drive will increase and you will be able ti ejaculate a whole lot easier. Your semen and excess urine will not be trapped under the tight skin either. Think of it as cosmetic surgery to improve your looks and sex life because it will. It did for me and I don't regret it at all.

All uncircumcised penises are not dirty. Using a condom is a better way of avoiding STDs. That is gold standard medical advice.

And that is true. Not all uncircumcised penises are dirty. It depends on how they are cared for. What is too difficult for you to understand. By the way, in which jurisdiction are you registered as a urologist and what is your registration number?

JamieRay profile image
JamieRay

Extremely rare and in such cases can be rectified. Clearly you are anti-circumcision which puzzles me as to why you are posting on this forum. We all are entitled to our own opinions. I know the health benefits personally, professionally and medically. Genitalia is my livelihood and I know I am carrying a clean dry and health glans. and I am not carrying bacteria under a foreskin which can coarse mouth ulcers, tongue abscesses, sore thoughts and is a risk of STIs and STDs in HIV. Of coarse if you wish to carry a wet and smelly glans under that disgusting skin that is your problem, as long as you are not trying to have sex with me I care not. The thought of oral sex on uncircumcised make me vomit but like I said that is my opinion and this forum is not for opinions it's to help people. The foreskin is purely a way of developing the penis (glans) in the womb. It should naturally open and retract 3-4 weeks before birth and some baby boys are lucky to be born without it or permanently retracted. In most cases it does not open properly and they are born with phimosis and it needs to be manually removed, like the umbilical cord. However, if you are against it I suggest you stop posting on here as I would like to help people with this issue and not argue.

in reply toJamieRay

What is your livelihood in genitalia?

Helping people is not always about telling people what they want to hear. If you are so knowledgeable you will know that your take on automatic post birth foreskin disappearance is not widely held. Phimosis is not what you describe. Phimosis is a condition where the foreskin is too tight to be pulled back over the head of the penis (glans).

Phimosis is normal in babies and toddlers, but in older children it may be the result of a skin condition that has caused scarring. It isn't usually a problem.
