Hi guys, I know this question has been bounced around a bit in the past and I wanted to share a recommendation a doctor gave me for my upcoming surgery soon. Most post surgical care instructions say to keep the penis elevated (head up towards abdomen) to reduce swelling. Swelling is the body's natural response to injury but the body doesn't do the greatest job at regulating this response and that is why medical science has taught us to mitigate this inflammatory response.. Think about what you do when you roll your ankle- you ice it and keep it elevated on a pillow or something to that effect. You will get back on your feet faster, so to speak. The same applies to your circumcision.
There is a specific underwear called a Dance Brief that male ballet dancers wear underneath their tights to reduce the visible outline of the penis when performing in tight and revealing costumes.
The dance brief fits snugly to provide support and rides on the high side allowing room to position the penis up toward the abdomen. The snug fit keeps it in the upright position. If this underwear keeps ballet dancer's genitals in place while doing intense dance etc then it will keep someone recovering from surgery supported and properly positioned- so says my doctor. The photo is of a similar product you can buy on Amazon. Just wanted to share an idea. I have ordered several to use during my recovery. They look very funny, but I care about my outcome more than how ridiculous they seem haha.
