A week later I'm still so swollen and starting to worry a little. Went to see a nurse yesterday and said it wasn't infected and to just keep it clean. The swelling doesn't allow me to get to the cut to clean it now. I need to get to the hospital to get it checked by the surgeon really don't I?

Mine was much worse than that mate, really bad. As everyone said to me it gets better and it indeed does, the first week is generally awful and full of worry. If you've had it checked then that's good but if you are still worried get back in again for a second opinion. That is what the healthcare professionals are there for and peace of mind is the most important thing during this process.
I thought yours looked better haha! The only thing that worries me is that I cant see the cut line to monitor/clean it because of the swelling and that there is small amounts of blood that appear occasionally especially after nocturnal erections. The sleep is killing me have to get up walking every hour in the night 😂
If the nurse has checked it and says there isn’t an infection then that’s all good.
You just need to monitor it, I started to get ill via the infection so be wary of that, temperature etc.
Try and keep it up if that’s possible?
The main thing is to monitor it, take pictures every day to see how it’s progressing.
Thanks for your reply, the only thing that concerns me is the fact i can't see the cut line to monitor it as it's swollen over the top now
Again it's normal mate. What I've found within the circumsicion process is that your perception of what was 'normal' before is greatly warped. Loads of people on here haven't seen the stich line for weeks or even months - how are you meant to check it's ok? God knows but apparently it's normal.
My second visit to A and E last Saturday with a big blood clot and four stiches popped resulted in 14 hours in two hospitals, a registrar squeezing the clot out of an open wound in my penis in front of my eyes with no anaesthetic then stick a large needle in several times and sew my bell end back together! All apparently normal!
I've had a lymph fluid sore on my bell end, had to throw away boxers and shorts because of the mess made and had the strangest sensations down there occasionally. I've had more bloody night time erections since the operation then I can ever remember having before and they do hurt and make for a restless sleep - all normal.
I'm healing up ok now but the uncertainty will probably remain until all swelling goes, all stiches are out and I can get a proper full length bonk on without pain or bleeding. The only thing that seems to be not normal within this process is discharge with smell (infection), excess bleeding or things not healing up. If you have any concerns then get it checked straight away. Other than that - all normal apparently!
Thanks so much for the detailed reply! Honestly don't know why I didn't search for a forum before, the doctors/nurses never really explain the real life situation of what should happen.. I guess we are all guilty of over worrying because how much of a important body part it is to us guys 😂 if it was my finger I wouldn't care half as much. You've put my mind at rest alot, so thankyou! I'm going to start icing it and keep it upright as this was never suggested to me, I'd actually been told to sit with nothing on so it's probably swollen more because of that. Also think those that have had a partial circumcision seem to look worse but hopefully less to go wrong when it comes to wether there's enough skin. Hope you're healing goes well!
You also sound like you've had a tough time with it, just praying mine doesn't do the same, dont think I could deal with that pain! Haha.
It was horrific but I got through so you can too. This is why I'm happy to reply as whilst sitting in waiting rooms in hospitals for 6 hours at a time with blood leaking out of your penis in the small hours of the morning, we all need some reassurance - this forum did that for me so I'm paying it forward.
Try ice packs, 15 min on, 15 off.
How many days should it be iced? I was circumcised this week and they said to only ice the first 24 hrs after surgery
I’d do it until swelling subsides.
Pretty much identical to mine in the first week or so mate, don’t worry the swelling reduces a lot and it will get a lot more comfortable and manageable. I was also worried about cleaning because I couldn’t see the incision so had short baths and kept some anti septic wipes next to my bed and when I woke up with a hardon I gave it a good clean then, not the most comfortable thing I’ve ever done but after week 2 there will hardly be any pain at all so just grin and bear it. I’m at week 3 now and it’s all settled nicely, still can’t have sex or wank which is doing my head in more than any pain or discomfort, I’m a walking horndog. Even a cup of coffee turns me on haha.
Just like to say for anyone reading the post in future, the process is not nice at all, but amazing how quickly it settles after 2 weeks, for anyone looking here and worrying, just chill out and it all sorts itself out! Hope everyones recovery is going well also, I've only one small part that I think I wripped a little to go then all healed, just to wait for the oedema to go down over the next few months.
Really glad it’s turned out well.
